In a highly anticipated rematch, Rich franklin was given the opportunity to fight Anderson Silva once again, after losing his title to the Brazilian in devastating fashion at UFC 64 - Unstoppable in October of 2006. This fight was also in Franklin's hometown of Cincinatti, Ohio, and although this fight was more competitive than the last, the result was just as devastating as Silva destroyed Franklin by 1:07 in the second round. It was also the return of former heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia, his first fight since losing his title to Randy Couture. He faced the undefeated Brandon Vera, and scored a unanimous decision victory, it should be noted that Vera broke his left hand in the first round.
