As a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend in Brazil, Gabriel Gonzaga has won prestigious Jiu Jitsu tournaments such as the Mundials in 2006.

He is a Jiu Jitsu black belt under the tutelage of Wander Braga, and was a member of the famous Chute Boxe Acadamy.

His UFC debut came at UFC 65 with a KO victory over Kevin Jordan and he currently stands at 4 1 in the octagon.

Apart from his reputation as an amazing grappler, Gonzaga solidified his spot in UFC lore with his shocking first round head kick TKO victory over Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 70 Nations Collide.

That victory gave him the opportunity to face Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 74 Respect, a bout which Couture won a with a dominating TKO victory.
