Born in Rochester New York, Frank Trigg made his way into MMA through a deep wrestling background, attending the University of Oklahoma. Trigg was also a finalist in the 2000 Olympic trials for wrestling.

Frank made his MMA debut at a United Shoot Wrestling Federation event in 1997, winning via KO victory in the first round. His first shot at a major organization was at PRIDE 8 where he won a first round TKO victory.

He made it into the UFC at UFC 45 in 2003 against Matt Hughes, losing by rear naked choke in the first round. He lost once more to Hughes in the UFC, as well as welterweight contender Georges St. Pierre.

Although his UFC career didn’t go smoothly, Frank transitioned into a top MMA color commentator and media personality. He was the English commentator for the PRIDE broadcasts, as well as a host of many prominent MMA radio programs.
