A former NCAA DIV II national wrestling champion, US national freestyle all-American, Korean Neofight Heavyweight Champion, WEF Heavyweight champ and West Virginia college conference tennis champion, Hinkle got his MMA start fighting for the first time in a freestyle tournament in Brazil.

With his success in Brazil, Hinkle began a career in 1998 that saw him make his first UFC appearance in 2005 at UFC 55 – Fury, defeating Sean Gannon by first round TKO.

He went on to lose his next two UFC match ups in a row, and has since left the UFC.
