EliteXC Betting - Suganuma vs. Hamman
by BetUS Staff

Online MMA wagering fans are hungry for justice once again; as yet another EliteXC main event ended in controversy and has forced a rematch.
Up-and-coming Hawaiian fighter Poai Suganuma ended Jared Hamman’s night in all of fifteen seconds on April 5th, care of a Superman punch and a wicked flying knee. While this columnist thought it was a more than decisive victory, those MMA betting fans in attendance that night cried out for the fight to continue.
Fight blogs soon after the bout suggested that Hamman could have scrambled out of the predicament he was in, and that the stoppage was quite premature.
Fair enough.
Judging by the styles of these two fighters, the result may be very much the same. Both Suganuma and Hamman are predominantly strikers, who are always on the lookout for a knockout or TKO. Hamman is an incredible athlete, a physical specimen with tremendous endurance.
Unfortunately, his fighting style isn’t conducive to lengthy fights, which may be where he’d gain an advantage over most light heavyweight opponents. The former The University of Redlands is not exactly well-versed on the mat, where his challenger will have a distinct advantage.
The Hawaiian warrior has an extensive background in Judo, and is training with one of the world’s best in BJ Penn. Sources say that Hemman has been training vigorously with Russian wrestlers to improve his ground game.
The one glaring weakness in the Hawaiian’s game that has perhaps kept him off the EliteXC main draw to this point has been his guard. Hemman will need to utilize his athleticism to maintain the upper hand and stay atop his opponent.
“What I’ve always told my football players (laughing) from the beginning is ‘he who hesitates first is the first to get rocked.’ And I hesitated. I mean I hesitated for a slight second and you saw what happened—boom, right there,” Hemman recently told MMAfighting.com.
From the sounds of it, Hamman has no intentions of switching up his game.
“It’s not going to go to a decision. I guarantee that. It’s definitely going to end before that bell,” added Hamman.
Suganuma is widely regarded as one of the most intelligent fighters under the ProElite umbrella—although it doesn’t take a genius to decipher his opponent’s style this weekend.
All signs point to another Suganuma knockout, as long as he can avoid the very apparent opening bell, bull-rush takedown attempt that the former gridiron star will hurl at him.
MMA betting enthusiasts should see this as an easy pick, and more or less free money. The fact that the bout is a rematch should keep the line fairly tight, which will mean a nice payday for Suganuma supporters!
