Bet on MMA - Elite XC’s Ladies Night
by Robby Maddux

When MMA betting fans around the world get down on the action at Elite XC’s event on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., nearly all the wagering dollars will be placed on the main event, pitting Kimbo Slice against Ken Shamrock.
It's an intriguing matchup if you bet on MMA competition, or not, and not to take anything away from a bout that could earn honors as fight for the ages, although unlikely, because in all honesty this contest features a man who's earned every ounce of his recognition by destroying seven of eight men he faced in bare-knuckle backyard brawls shown on YouTube before turning professional where he's yet to be challenged, having fought virtual no bodies who climbed into the cage with Slice anticipating a paycheck with that ass whooping against a washed up Shamrock.
The one time mega star known as The World's Most Dangerous Man played a major role in making UFC the planet's MMA top-series. Shamrock competed in UFC 1 and in 1995 won the UFC Superfight title. He's held three additional UFC championships since his first, was a PRIDE fighting sensation icon and living legend in Japan, too. But at the age of 44, Shamrock is long past his prime and hasn't claimed victory in over four years, having lost five consecutive fights all by first-round knockouts.
But Whether the Slice-Shamrock fight ultimately becomes one hell of a fight or totally flops, this is an online MMA betting must see event. Because prior to the main event, the Elite XC’s under card on Saturday, Oct. 4 features a female brawl between unbeaten Gina Carano, who is arguably MMA’s most popular lady fighter in the world, against Kelly Kobold-Gavin in what's being dubbed the biggest marquee women’s fight in history.
Carano entered the cage in Elite XC’s inaugural CBS broadcast in May, scoring a second-round TKO over Kaitlin Young in the co-main event of the evening. The win over Young kept her unbeaten at 6-0. The 26-year-old Carano has had fights televised on Showtime and CBS, as well as starring on NBC's American Gladiators. Guys, if you have never seen her, well, her model looks and body to die for ranks her among the hottest lady athletes on the planet. Move over Danica Patrick, Misty May-Treanor, Jennie Finch, Anna Kournikova and other sport's babes, or you may get them mouthwatering booties kicked.
Carano has made it well-known she doesn't want to be labeled the face of women's MMA. She only wants to be known as a fighter. But Google her (Images) and you'll probably agree she doesn't have a legit beef receiving exposure as both hottie and fighter. Hell girl, why not work it both? You know how deep Heff or Flint would dig in them bottomless pockets for a pose? If her upcoming fight against Kobold-Gavin was going to be decided on looks, Carano would be a lock. But when these two gals enter the cage, which will be far from a typical ''cat fight'', looks will mean nothing and breaking a nail will be the last thing on either fighters mind.
If you have yet to see two truly skilled female MMA fighters get it on, you're in for a treat and will be impressed by their competitiveness, warrior mentality, intent to punish and overall raw talents equal or above to that of some dudes. Again, this will not be a typical ''cat fight'', instead, a brawl that may earn status as best MMA wagering fight of the night. It's a refreshing break from the men competing and Carano alone makes this event well worth the price of admission.
Attempting to mess up that pretty little face of Carano is Kobold-Gavin, who is hot in her own rights and no cupcake at 16-2-1 in her career, but hasn't fought in nearly a year since losing a decision last August to Julie Kedzie. Six months before Kobold-Gavin was beaten by Kedzie, Carano fought Kedzie and defeated her via unanimous decision in February 2007.
Also on the Elite XC’s event card is Jake Shields (21-4-1) vs. Paul Daley (17-6-2) and Murilo Rua (16-8-1) vs. Benji Radach (13-3-0). Be sure to visit BetUS MMA odds sections for availability on odds for this and other upcoming events, including Octagon odds on UFC fights soon to come.
