Call Diego Sanchez’s victory a feather in the cap for Tony Robbins, as the Nightmare “Yes’d” his way to victory in a classic toe to toe stand up affair on Saturday night. Joe Stevenson (+250) was more than game and looked as though he had Sanchez (-350) rocked on a few occasions but didn’t do enough as Sanchez was the busier fighter and all three judges saw the fight go the Nightmare’s way.
By far the biggest UFC betting upset of the night was Paulo Thiago’s knockout of Josh Koscheck. At (+350) Thiago looked to be a t-ball set up for Koscheck (-500) to knock out of the park but as every fighter knows, the puncher’s chance is the great equalizer.
Nate Marquardt (-300), Demian Maia (-300) and Dan Hardy (-120) all looked impressive in their respective fights as none of these men needed three rounds to dispatch of their opponents.
Up next is UFC 96 with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (-300) vs. Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine (+220). They go toe to toe in what should be another epic stand up war on March 7th.
