Kentucky Derby Head to Head Matchups - Easy Money Picks

Regal Ransom +145 -Though the underdog defeated the chalk in the UAE Derby over in Dubai, let it be known that Desert Party closed very well on a speed favoring track that day.  Regal Ransom will likely be the Derby pacesetter and with other speed pressing him like Join in the Dance, Friesan Fire, Papa Clem and Mine that Bird look for the superior distance pedigree of Desert Party to out kick the speed laden bloodlines of Regal Ransom turning for home. 
2. Friesan Fire -130 VS. Dunkirk EVEN - Dunkirk  is a 3.7 million dollar purchase that is regally bred by Unbridled’s Song to get the derby distance.  His closing kick might very well do in Friesan Fire who will be close to a fast pace and has never raced over a mile and a sixteenth.
3. Mr. Hot Stuff -160 VS West Side Bernie +130 – The chalk has had one race on conventional dirt and it was horrible.  West Side Bernie came in second in his last going against probable Derby favorite I Want Revenge in the Wood Memorial.
4. Advice -150 VS Regal Ransom +120 – Chalk is another horse unproven on conventional dirt.  Advice has the chance to bounce off of big effort in the Lexington Stakes just two weeks ago and Regal Ransom should carry his speed just far enough to fend him off.
5. Hold Me Back -130 VS Papa Clem EVEN – The Arkansas Derby Winner Papa Clem is reportedly training very well at Churchill Downs.  Hold me back has been a synthetic specialist so far in his career.
