Belmont Stakes day is always a good day for BetUS online racebook fans to find overlaid wagers. It isn’t often that the overlays are found in the main event, the Belmont Stakes, but that’s okay because most horseplayers know that playing the Belmont Stakes is only part of the reason that Belmont Stakes day is so appealing.

The real reason it’s so appealing is because finding overlays in the other stakes races on the card can be easy to do.

Such is the case with Race 7, the Grade I Just A Game.

Let’s take a look at Race 7 at Belmont Park on Saturday.

Belmont Park – Race 7

Grade I Just A Game

For Fillies and Mares Three Years Old and Upward

1 mile on turf

Modern Look - - 8/1 morning line

This 4-year old goes second time for trainer Bobby Frankel in the states after having won a Grade II and finishing 4th in a Grade I over at France. Modern Look attended a fairly quick pace in her first start stateside, in a non-graded stakes race at Santa Anita, as the .70 cent favorite. She finished second to Dawn After Dawn in that race but it should have set her up perfectly for this. With only Raw Silk to run down, she figures to be a major player in this.

Diamondrella - - 8/1 morning line

All Diamondrella has done is won five races in a row. Yes, none of them were graded stakes races and all of them were sprints, but she’s done it by showing a fantastic burst of speed at the top of the stretch. If she does that in this race, then she could easily run right past both Modern Look and Raw Silk for the win money. She’s worth a long look in this.

Captain’s Lover - - 8/1 morning line

Todd Pletcher finally unleashes this daughter of Captain Al for Team Valor International. Captain’s Lover is a Grade III winner and Grade I placed 5 year old mare who will be running first time in the states. Her lifetime record of 6-1-1 out of 9 lifetime starts says a lot about her talent as she has faced some serious competition. She might need a race but if her class carries her, then forget it. She could win this easily.

Wagering Strategy

Modern Look has a big shot in this race but both Captain’s Lover and Diamondrella do as well. I’ll bet Modern Look to win. I will also bet Diamondrella to win. I will put Modern Look, Captain’s Lover and Diamondrella into an exacta box. For the trifecta box, I will add one more horse, the 6/5 chalk, Forever Together.
