Hollywood Park decided to have the Grade II Hollywood Oaks on the Sunday after the Belmont Stakes. It’s actually a really good idea. Whether we online racebook fans come out as winners or losers this Saturday, we will have this Sunday race to concentrate on!

Grade II Hollywood Oaks

$150,000 for three-year old fillies

1 1/16th miles on cushion track

Miss Singhsix - - fair odds 5/1

Lots of speed in this race which should set things up for this daughter of Sinspiel. In her first race in the states she finished a non-threatening fourth as the favorite. Now, trainer Paddy Gallagher switches her to the cushion track at Hollywood Park. She keeps the services of jockey Alex Solis and should find herself in a terrific stalking position behind the speed. I expect her to improve in her fourth lifetime race.

Tasha’s Miracle - - fair odds 3/1

The likely chalk has every right to win this race and is training very well, but she almost never gets there. She only has two wins out of eight starts even though her speed ratings are almost always competitive. I really think she’s got that hangers’ mentality. That means that she is a bad wager at what is sure to be low odds.

Million Dollar Run - - fair odds 3/1

Last out, in the Grade III Railbird, this filly was absolutely fantastic. She won that Grade III in her second lifetime start. She went off at 15 to 1 in that race. I doubt she will go off at anything resembling 15 to 1 in this race. She has the ability to lead or stalk, but since she gets the rail, jockey Joel Rosario may just send her flying out of there. We’ll have to wait and see.

Wagering Strategy

I will make on online bet on Miss Singhsix to win and place. I will use in an exacta and trifecta box with Tasha’s Miracle and Million Dollar Run.
