The key with winning at the track is betting overlays. It doesn’t matter if online racebook fans are betting the Kentucky Derby or Mountaineer Park. Sometimes, in studying the racing form a horse jumps out at you and almost grabs you by the throat. This usually happens when the horse has changed some type of situation from one race to another.

Today’s pick of the day is exactly that kind of horse.

Mountaineer Park Race 9

Pick in order of Preference

1. Realittour 3/1 morning line

2. Stolen Chevy 6/5 morning line

3. The Unbelievable 20/1 morning line

Realittour - - Realittour sure looks good. He is coming off a terrible 5 ½ furlong race on the mud where he ran terribly. No worries. That obviously was a tune-up for this 1 70 yard mile race. Realittour’s best races have no doubt been at two turns and that’s where he find himself right now. He also has the speed ratings to contend with the chalk, Stolen Chevy. I have no doubt that Realittour will fire his best shot tonight. Hopefully, it will be good enough to bring home a few dollars for us online betting fans.

Stolen Chevy - - Stolen Chevy could be a monster but if he is then why is he still languishing at Mountaineer Park when his connections could take him to the promised land of Belmont Park? His last two races have been absolutely fantastic but he faces a true competitor in Realittour who won’t let him get away with soft fractions on the front-end. Because Stolen Chevy figures to go off at 4/5 or less in this race, he is a definite play against in the win spot.

The Unbelievable - - Here’s a long-shot in tonight’s 9th race that makes tons of sense. He can undoubtedly win this race if both Realittour and Stolen Chevy for some reason do not fire or run each other into the ground. Looking at this guy’s past performances one race stands out - - that 3rd place finish on November 5th in 2007. Yes, it was a long time ago, but that was The Unbelievable’s first start with trainer Timothy Hamm. He ran a huge number in that race - - on par with both Stolen Chevy and Realittour. If Hamm wanted to get rid of The Unbelievable he could have easily placed him into a claiming race. Instead, he’s got The Unbelievable in this allowance race. Could surprise at a huge price.

Wagering Strategy

I’m going to bet a small exacta box with all three horses as well as a small trifecta box with all three horses.

I’m also going to bet on the Realittour to win, place and show.
