Handicapping the Belmont Stakes: This Advice Should Help

Triple Crown

In 2009 three different horses won each leg of the Triple Crown.

At odds of roughly 50 to 1, Mine That Bird shocked the racing world when Calvin Borel drove him up the rail and past Pioneerofthenile and Musket Man to take the Run for the Roses.

Then, two weeks later, a filly named Rachel Alexandra, ridden by Borel again, beat Mine That Bird to become the first filly since 1924 to win the Preakness Stakes, the Second Jewel of the Triple Crown.

Finally, three weeks after the Preakness Stakes, the half-brother of Mine That Bird, Summer Bird, won the Test of Champions, the Belmont Stakes.

The 2009 Triple Crown was indeed one to remember, but the 2010 Triple Crown isn’t that far off. In fact with two-year olds running right now at, and the future book opening shortly for Triple Crown wagering, horseplayers should take the time to get the 2010 Triple Crown dates memorized.
