Miss BetUS 2008 A "HOT" Competition
by Charles Jay
I've judged a few beauty pageants in my time (OK, I really haven't), but I can tell you I'm not too old to throw a few opinions out there.
From what I understand a couple of our BetUS models have made something of a mark lately. Donna Feldman (December 2005) was in Maxim Magazine this June and was in "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" with Adam Sandler. Laura Croft, who was Miss April 2007, is not to be confused with "Lara Croft" of "Tomb Raider" fame, but she's better. In fact, she was the Playmate of the Month in Playboy's July 2008 issue.
I can't believe I haven't met them yet.
So who is going to be the new Miss BetUS 2008? Well, you can vote for the winner at BetUS.com
….and we certainly encourage you to do so.
If I could possibly offer some help, I'd like to construct a line on this "competition", keeping in mind of course that this is completely unofficial and that BetUS couldn't possibly take bets on this. Or maybe they could - I don't know; we're pumping odds on who the next Pope will be, after all.
The Charles Jay Line, for what it is worth:
DIANA CHIAFAIR (December 2007) -- She's got credentials, having been named Miss FMH 2006. She wants to do charity work as it involves kids. And this is not a misprint - she says she's a virgin. I guess, depending on what you're looking for, that could be very good news or very bad news. To me, I think it scores points. -- 4/1
CLAUDIA GESTRO (July 2008) -- She's a native of Peru who has appeared in Playboy. Plus, she's 5'10" and a basketball player to boot. This all adds up to a potential winning combination. I could imagine her getting a lot of support. -- 9/2
CHRISTINE LeMASTER (March 2008) -- A Kentucky transplant who now lives on Florida's west coast, she loves things like NASCAR and jet skiing. She will also dance on top of the bar at the drop of a hat, which is special. She is right near the top of the list on the "body" department. -- 5/1
COLLEEN CARRERA (May 2008) -- She wants to attend veterinary school, which shows she's got a good on her shoulders. Watch the video - there's a little truckdriver talk there, which can be somewhat attractive. And I like that bathing suit she's posing in, not to mention her lack of a bathing suit in a couple of shots. -- 6/1
MICHELLE JANETIS (January 2008) -- Like Diana, she's been featured in FMH magazine. She lives in Florida and wants to go into the dog grooming business, where, according to her mini-bio, "she’ll come to your house and clean your animals." Bingo! -- 7/1
JESSICA CANIZALES (August 2007) -- She's from South Beach, which gets her a few points from me. Also, according to her thumbnail bio, "any guy who hopes to have a chance with her has to be able to party more than they work." This could be a winner! -- 8/1
ERICKA UNDERWOOD (June 2008) -- A native of Michigan who now lives in South Beach, she likes to go boating but doesn't necessarily like to fish. That's cool in my book. -- 10/1
CHRISTY WEST (September 2007) -- She's blond, a small-town girl, and has some altruistic aspirations, as she wants to work with kids with disabilities. Also, "a beer at happy hour is all she really needs to put a smile on her face." That's a pleasant departure from most women you'll meet in Florida! -- 12/1
MINDI SMITH (February 2008) -- Does every girl in this thing live in Florida? Not that I'm complaining. And certainly not when she recounts the story of chasing a total stranger down the hall of a Jamaican hotel, stark naked. That's a three-pointer right there! -- 14/1
JILLIAN BEYOR (April 2008) -- It says, "Her favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day and she expects a man to bring her flowers, stuffed animals and vodka martinis." She makes an awful lot of sense there. -- 15/1
MELISSA GONZALEZ (October 2007) -- She like Buffalo wings, which is not up my alley. Yes, she has an exotic look, but I'm generally not a multiple-tattoo kind of guy. -- 18/1
LISA MACKAY (November 2007) -- This Las Vegas native wants you to try her oatmeal pancakes, but wants you to look like a bodybuilder at the same time. This is a demanding woman. How demanding? According to her writeup at BetUS, "She thinks men should always dress like Spartan soldiers." Hmmmmm -- 20/1
