Hull City to find winning ways against Manchester City

The second Sunday Premiership fixture features Hull City hosting Manchester City. Hull City’s odds in the sports betting market suffered from a recent poor run. But considering that during that run, two of their losses were to two of the biggest clubs in Premier League right now – Manchester United and Chelsea FC – sports bettors should take those losses in context of their opposition and not a complete reflection of the Tigers abilities. And, their last loss against Bolton was just bad luck.

Hull City (+190) Hull City started the season well but a third successive defeat in Premiership action last weekend is cause for concern. Then again maybe not! Two of their three losses came to Chelsea and Manchester United. So really, the only concerning loss was to Bolton last week – a club that sits six points below them.

Currently sixth in the league, Hull City is perilously close to slipping further in the table. So this is a must win for them. Perhaps the two disappointing losses (4:3 to Man U and 3:0 to Chelsea) affected them more than they should have. Against Bolton, they were the better side though and should have won. Thanks to Bolton keeper, Jaaskelainen Bolton got away with the 1:0 victory. So they were unlucky really.

Manchester City (+140) Since the 6:0 victory over Portsmouth that signalled the arrival of new management Manchester City faded back to whence they came from. Bettors thought the consummate performance over Portsmouth was a sign of great things to come. That did not happen. They are close to the danger zone in the table and now with three back-to-back Premiership losses they are slipping further.

Soccer Betting Verdict: I expect this to be a tight match. Hull City will try to avoid another loss but they will have to take the initiative to win. They have the quality to do so and if luck is back on their side, they should take the win.
