English Premier League Betting: Manchester City vs. Hull City

After the start to the season Manchester City enjoyed, few soccer betting afficionados would have predicted with any certainty how quickly they would lose momentum. But lose momentum they have and for now they are out of the “big four,” not only where standing in the EPL table is concerned but the discussion on the power clubs this season.
Though they are still in the top ten after a run of funky results they find themselves hobnobbing with the likes of seventh placed Liverpool a club that is having a bum season by everyone’s measure. You know how the saying goes: you are what your friends are.
Meanwhile, Hull City are enjoying a bit of positive run of results lately and as such have climbed up the table somewhat. They have a bit of a distance between themselves and the danger zone but not enough to have the luxury of leaking too many points. Hull City will therefore head to Manchester City in the hopes of capitalizing on the Citizens funk.

Something tells me sixth place in the EPL is not what the Abu Dhabi Royal family had in mind when they invested in Manchester City. With the Christmas break fast approaching, the Citizens are under the fire a bit: they need to improve their run of form before the rest of the pack gets too far ahead for them to have a hell of time catching up, if at all. Hell to pay if that happens methinks.
Man City are on a poor run of form in my opinion given the quality and depth of their bench. A run of six straight draws might be a good result for any other club but not one that saw millions of dollars exchange hands in the summer transfer window. That they haven’t walked away empty-handed though is probably why they are still where they are in the standings. Man City are 0-6-0 in their last six overall. At home, they are 3-2-0 in their last five.
Interesting to note, according to the form table after last weekend, 15th placed Hull City is enjoying better form than Manchester City. Hull City are 2-2-2 in their last six matches (a mark which gives them two points more than Man City).Nonetheless, Hull City have a huge “on paper” disadvantage and in my opinion they will be hard pressed to take anything away from the City of Manchester Stadium.
Soccer Betting Verdict: Hull City’s odds are might attractive at +1000 to win outright at Man City. The Citizens haven’t been playing well so there is a slim chance they might suffer a surprise – as well they might, they have been handing out draws lately like it were going out of style. It would be foolish in my opinion not to risk a small wager on such tempting odds: Hull City at +1000 or even the draw at +450 – stranger things have happened this season. Realistically though the likeliest outcome is a home win. That is at least what the market indicates.
