Germany takes on Turkey in a Euro 2008 betting semi-final match that nobody expected. The Croatians, who looked brilliant by beating Germany in group play, laid an egg against the upstart Turks. The Germans beat one of the top teams in Euro 2008, Portugal and top player Cristiano Ronaldo, by doing what they do best, taking their time and attacking in spots.
I thought that the Germans had a shot against the Portuguese and even suggested a sports betting wager on Germany at the online betting soccer odds of + 200 but I never expected the decimated Turks to claw their way to a victory over Croatia. Croatia looked almost unbeatable after running through group play without being tested. How did the Turks do it? First, nobody has the heart that the Turks have. They display it on the pitch time and time again. Nobody else in Euro 2008 has the management skills that Turkish manager Fatih Terim has. If online soccer betting fans didn’t think he was a genius before this tournament, they have to believe he is now. Terim has made all of the right moves so far in Euro 2008. Now, Turkey is a game away from playing in the European World Championship Match.
Terim is going to have to make a few more moves in the semifinal match against the Germans. Turkey will definitely be without six of their players and might be without more depending on how some of their players respond to treatment. They won’t be at one-hundred percent. That’s not good because Michael Ballack for Germany figures to make an injured Turkish squad pay big time!
Here are the BetUS online betting odds for this match:
Germany - 1 - 140 - 250 O 2 ½ Ev O 1 ½ - 165
U 1 ½ + 135
Turkey + 1 + 120 + 650 U 2 ½ - 120 O ½ - 130
U ½ Ev
Draw + 320
Turkey looks hopelessly overmatched in this match. But they looked hopelessly overmatched in their match versus Croatia, right? In fact they’ve looked hopelessly overmatched almost every time they’ve taken the pitch in Euro 2008 wagering tournament.
Will the magic end for Turkey? Yes, it probably will, but the above odds state that Germany routs the Turks. Haven’t we learned by now that nobody routs the Turks? They were down by two goals to Czechoslovakia and came back to win. They beat the Croatians on penalty kicks.
Germany will probably win this match, but at + 1 - 120, I sure like the Turks in this one.
That’s where my money will be going on the BetUS sportsbook, online wager on Turkey to make a good showing of themselves at + 1 - 120.
I will also put a smaller online wager on Turkey to win this match outright at the BetUS online odds of + 650. Turkey might just be a team of destiny.
