AFL Arena Football Betting – Chicago Rush vs. Colorado Crush

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

Central Division online AFL betting action heats up Friday night in the Pepsi Center when the (6-2) Chicago Rush takes on the (3-4) Colorado Crush in a crucial game for the home team. Chicago owns a perfect (4-0) mark within the Central Division, while Colorado is yet to notch a victory in divisional play. The Crush sit three games in back of the Rush in the win column, but they’ve played one less game. Chicago is 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS on the road this season, while the Crush are 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS at home. The Rush have lost three straight against the spread, while Colorado had its two-game SU and ATS winning streak snapped last week at KC.

It certainly wouldn’t be classified as a pretty win, but the Rush will take them anyway they can get them. Six wins throughout their first eight games equals the franchise's second-best start. "Six-and-two," Rush coach Mike Hohensee said. "That's all that matters with us." QB Russ Michna got his second straight start for the injured Sherdrick Bonner and put forth another solid effort. He completed 28-of-33 passes for 300 yards with a TD/INT ratio of 5/1. He also got into the endzone himself, proving once again he’s a viable threat with both his arm and his legs. Rookie Donovan Morgan had a big game securing 10 receptions for 149 yards and four TDs. Penalties and turnovers allowed the Rampage to stay within the pointspread, and that’s something Chicago’s coaching staff will have to work on with its team during practice this week before they take the field against their hated rivals.

Colorado invaded the “Sprint Center” looking to continue its dominance over the Brigade last week, but things didn’t pan out exactly as they had hoped. The Crush boast a better than average secondary, but it was exposed by KC’s passing attack to the tune of 235 yards and four TDs. Making matters worse for the stop unit was the fact that the Brigade ran the ball down their throats churning out 48 yards and three more scores. After lighting it up the last couple weeks, QB John Dutton came back down to earth only completing 23-of-39 passes for 191 yards with a TD/INT ratio of 5/2. K Clay Rush got injured in the first quarter forcing the Crush to go for two the rest of the game. Colorado pulled to within two with 17 seconds left in the game, but their two-point conversion came up lame allowing Kansas City to pull off the gritty 55-53 home win and cover.

The Rush opened seven-point road favorites with the ‘total’ set at 105. You can get down on both the ‘side’ and ‘total’ at BetUS.com right now!

Chicago is 8-4 SU and ATS in its 12 meetings with Colorado in the team’s history. They’ve won and covered each of its last two visits to the Pepsi Center, and walloped the Crush 70-35 back in Week 4 of this season covering easily as 10-point home favorites.
