AFL betting commences as the league enters its 14th week of action, and online sports bettors get to sink their teeth into a crucial American Conference clash as the (3-10) Utah Blaze invades Van Andel Arena to take on Head Coach Steve Thonn’s (3-9) Grand Rapids Rampage. Even though both clubs have won just three games each this season, they’re still in the thick of the watered down American Conference Playoff race.
Utah secured big paydays for AFL bettors with the intestinal fortitude to play them ATS and on the $$$-Line last week against Chicago. After getting out to a 21-0 start, the Rush fought back to eventually tie it at 48, but Steve Videtich’s 18-yard FG was true as time expired to earn the Blaze the huge 51-48 SU underdog victory. QB Joe Germaine had himself another solid outing completing 28-of-38 passes for 233 yards and five TDs. They also won the turnover battle 2:1, and the 48 points surrendered by the defense was the lowest amount it’s given up all season long.
Grand Rapids let one slip away from them in the desert last week against the Arizona Rattlers. They entered the fourth quarter with a 42-35 lead, but got outscored 17-6 in the final quarter to fall by a 52-48 final count. WR Chris Johnson had himself a huge game hauling in four passes for 121 yards and four TDs, but it wasn’t enough to reel in the road victory. The four-point loss saw them lose ATS by a single point, and it was their third ATS loss in their L/4 games.
This will be just the third match-up between these teams in the series history, and the first this season. Each team has secured SU and ATS wins in its own arena. Utah blew their doors off the Rampage last season, 83-42, easily covering as nine-point home chalks. The combined 125-points went over the closing ‘total’ of 115. Grand Rapids defeated the Blaze in their first ever meeting back in 2006, 59-49, as two-point home favorites. The combined 118 points soared over the 104.5 ‘total’ as well.
Each club has earned a SU and ATS victory, and the over is a perfect 2-0 ATS.
Oddsmakers deemed the Rampage 3-points better than the visiting Blaze with the ‘total’ set at 119. BetUS.com offers all the Week 14 Arena Football lines your heart desires, so be sure to login and get your wagers down in what should be a heated non-conference battle.
With Kansas City, Utah, and Grand Rapids all fighting for the sixth and final playoff position in the American Conference, this is a huge game for these two clubs. Utah is yet to win a road game this season (0-6 SU), and they’re a poor 1-4-1 ATS in those games. Grand Rapids has only been installed a favorite five times over the L/3 seasons, but they’re a perfect 2-0 SU and ATS as a home favorite of three or less over the L/3 seasons. With this already being a higher scoring series, the over looks to be a solid investment with it cashing in 5 of the L/6 times the Blaze were installed underdogs of three or less points, and its cashed in 17 of the Rampages L/22 home games. With this being such a crucial game, look for both coaches to take chances they might not necessarily take, which could lead to some quick scores for both clubs.
