NHL Western Conference Free Picks – Thursday Night Rundown!

Minnesota to Run Wild Over Vancouver
The Wild have fared extremely well against their Northwest Division opponents this season, and have added to their joys by going 5-2 SU in their last 7 games. They’ve also man-handled Vancouver in their last 7 games, winning five of those contests. The Wild are a safe bet at home tonight in the UNDER as Backstrom and Luongo put on a net minding tour de force tonight.
NHL Free Pick: Minnesota -190
Chicago and Dallas Both Spinning In Futility
Both teams are talented. Both teams boast strong, deep lineups. Both teams have solid, veteran goal tenders. So why can’t either team string a back-to-back win together to save their lives? The Hawks are amongst the best in overall scoring with 3.6 goals per game, but Modano’s Stars are 2nd overall with 4.2 goals per game when playing at home. As both teams scramble to find consistency, bet on the home team Stars to win tonight over the youthful Blackhawks.
NHL Free Pick: Dallas -130
Calgary to Continue Road Weariness against Colorado
The Flames are one of the worst road bets in the NHL. They’re 1-4 SU in their last 5 games on the road and have won only one contest when challenging the Avalanche in their own building. While Colorado has done little to give them credence overall, the one thing you can bet on is that they’ll beat up the Flames whenever they wander in to the Pepsi Center.
NHL Free Pick: Colorado -125
Detroit to Punish Dismal Oilers
Even with Chris Chelios and Dan Cleary on the shelf with an assortment of injuries, the Red Wings continue to vault through the standings. At 12-2-3 SU on the season, they are definitively the team to beat in NHL sports betting. Going 5-1 SU in their last 6 games gives them the edge in momentum. The Oilers are a horrific 5-10 SU in their last 15 games overall and won’t pose a threat. For futures bettors, Marion Hossa is looking like the early lead for Hart Trophy hoister at the season’s end.
NHL Free Pick: Detroit -155
Capitals to Demolish Lowly Kings
Washington stunned the betting community by following up a 6-4 loss to New Jersey with a 6-4 victory over Anaheim in The Pond. Facing the Kings amidst a two-game losing streak will only further the dismal season LA is having thus far. Washington is going to be one of the better bets heading in to the season, especially with doubts circulating about the depth of the roster backing Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Semin.
NHL Free Pick: Washington +115
