After getting crushed by the Vancouver Canucks, the Lightning were able to salvage a victory over the listless Edmonton Oilers. They will complete their Western Canadian tour by taking on the Calgary Flames, who have won four of their last five games.

Unfortunately for the Flames, that one loss was against Nashville, where they were absolutely tortured by Jason Arnott in a 6-3 loss. The Flames’ overall defense ranks ninth, which is the name ranking as the Lightning’s overall offense.

 

The Lightning may be favored, but they are going to be playing their fifth road game in a row on Saturday night. The Flames are a tough team to play against in front of their red-hot Saturday night crowd. Expect defensemen Brad Stuart and Dion Phaneuf to have their hands full with Tampa’s top-line.

This will be a hard fought game built around speedy offense and hard-hitting defense. The Lightning are favored for now, but the smart bettor will take the Flames on a Saturday night in their own rink. They have won five of their last six on home ice.
