Bet On NFL Arrests - Who's Next?

The NFL is an American obsession, and from the monumental amounts of betting handle generated to fantasy leagues, we just can't get enough. NFL betting fans' and novices' interest in their favorite teams and players expands far beyond the sidelines.

And when ''dirt'' turns up pertaining to a big name arrest of an NFL player, word spreads faster than Ricky Williams running after a free pound of green or Adam ''Pacman'' Jones fleeing from a stray bullet.

Since Sept. 1, 2006, just prior to the beginning of the season, Roger Goodell began his tenure as Commissioner of the NFL. His first significant move came in April 2007, announcing a new NFL Personal Conduct Policy in efforts of cleaning up players' behavior off-the-field. But since the start of the 2006 regular season, more than 50 NFL players have been arrested, with the outcomes of cases been resolved ranging from dropping of charges to guilty pleas and convictions.

Tennessee Titans cornerback Pacman Jones and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry were the first two players to be suspended under the new policy. Collectively, Goodell has disciplined only six players under the policy and it's reported by NFL spokesman Greg Aiello off-the-field incidents has dropped 20% since the policy was put in place.

With many arrests of NFL players being misdemeanors, and not reported by the media because they're acts conducted by less than household names, it's likely statistics generated by Goodell's NFL Personal Conduct Policy will never be accurately reported to the public.

But one thing's for certain, an arrest of another high-profiled player will be accurately reported heavily to the public, as will the discipline handed down by Roger ''The Hammer'' Goodell. Surely since being passed the gavel by the retiring Paul Tagliabue, Goodell can't be happy with only six participants in his policy, can he?

NFL players are released for being undersized or too slow. For talking to the media, or not talking at all, displaying lack of leadership. And for wide receivers with bad hands, it's turn in your playbook time. But for one of the world's most popular sports, disturbing off-the-field behavior that's often violent related crimes committed by repeat offenders, isn't enough to cost a player his job.

However, it may be enough to earn a paycheck for the online NFL betting public if one of the following eight players is next to become cuffed-n-stuffed in a police cruiser. That's right, BetUS Sportsbook has made it possible to wager on who's next to have their mug shot taken, and it's clear according to arrest history why BetUS NFL odds has Chris Henry and Adam ''Pacman'' Jones favorites next to be smiling for the camers.
