The Raiders gave the Chargers all they could ask for in their Week 1 MNF match-up, but round 2 was a knockout from the opening kick. After Darren Sproles got the Chargers into Raiders territory, QB Phillip Rivers connected with WR Malcolm Floyd for a 41-yard TD pass on their very first offensive play of the game. After SD held the Raiders to a three and out, they went right down the field and added a FG. Then one-play after the Raiders turned it over for the first of four times in the game, Rivers hit WR Vincent Jackson from 28-yards out for his second TD pass of the game. SD had the lofty NFL pointspread covered just 12 minutes into the game, and it was more or less an exhibition from that point forward. The Charger defense stifled Oakland limiting it to 210 overall yards, a 3–of-12 conversion rate on 3rd down, while sacking Oakland QBs a total of four times. Oakland’s a disgrace, and the Chargers got healthy off their ineptitude in Week 8.

Take San Diego (-16.5) -110 and Over 41.5 –110 in the BetUS Sportsbook.

The bye week did the Titans good as HC Jeff Fisher’s club looked like a completely different team on Sunday afternoon. Besides the fact that Vince Young was leading the charge on offense, the Titans defense played a whale of a game. After allowing the Jags to rumble for 440+ yards in their Week 4 meeting this season, they only allowed 269 total yards this time around. By doing so, the Titz secured their first victory of the season and second NFL betting win of the year after covering the number vs. the Steelers way back in Week 1. QB Young only passed for 130 yards, but he picked up another 69-yards on the ground and scored the final TD of the game to allow Tennessee to pull out the much needed home win and cover.

Take Tennessee (-3) -110 and Under 45 –110 in the BetUS Sportsbook.

I’m not sure why, but the Cardinals just don’t like playing in front of their home fans. They dropped their third game at home on Sunday afternoon against a Carolina club that just lost to the Bills at home last week. They bolted out to a 21-10 lead at the half after coming up with a number of big plays. QB Kurt Warner hit WR Anquan Boldin for a 42-yard TD pass, RB Timothy Hightower rattled off a 28-yard TD run, and WR/KR Steve Breaston answered Carolina’s first TD of the game by returning the kick-off 94-yards for a score. Much like their game vs. Houston however, the Cardinals took their foot off the gas in the second half, but this time, they paid for it. QB Jake Delhomme had a solid outing throwing for 245 yards and a score with no INT’s, and the Panthers RB duo of Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams wore the Cardinals out in the second half en route to securing the improbable outright victory and football gambling cover.

Take Carolina (+10) -110 and Over 41 –110 in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Brett Favre’s return to Green Bay didn’t go as planned for pro football betting backers of the Vikings in Week 8. While he would’ve liked to have stuck it to his former mates for the second time this season, it just wasn’t in the cards as the Packers played an excellent game on both sides of the ball. Favre outshined Aaron Rodgers the first time around, but it was the heir apparent that scored the win this time around and got the Packers right back in the NFC North race in the process. While Favre threw for 227 yards, he completed just 39% of his passes and was picked off twice. After running for just 55 yards in the first meeting, RB Adrian Peterson went off for 129 yards and a score, but he coughed up a crucial fumble right before the break that allowed the Packers to tack three points onto their halftime lead. Minnesota outgained GBY this time around, but the Packers did the same thing in the first meeting and lost. To the victor go the spoils…

Take Green Bay (-3) -120 and Under 47 –110 in the BetUS Sportsbook.
