Week 8 NFL Handicapping – Desperate Giants Host San Diego Chargers

San Diego Chargers (+5) vs. New York Giants (-5)

Sunday, November 8 4:15 PM ET
O/U (47½)

The New York Giants (5-3 SU, 4-3-1 ATS, 5-2-1 O/U) will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the San Diego Chargers (4-3 SU, 2-5 ATS, 4-2-1 O/U) at Giants Stadium on Sunday at 4:15 PM ET.

The Giants were absolutely man-handled in their 40-17 Week 8 loss to Philadelphia as they failed to even come close to covering the game’s NFL point spread as a 1-point road favorite while the game’s 57 combined points played Over the 43.5-point O/U total.

Eli Manning passed for 222 yards with one touchdown but also tossed two interceptions in the loss while New York’s defense allowed Donovan McNabb to throw three TD passes in the loss.

The Chargers beat the Oakland Raiders 24-16 in Week 8, but failed to come close to covering the NFL point spread as a 16-point home favorite while the game’s 40 combined points played Under the 41-point O/U total.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends and NFL Betting Odds, followed by my in-depth analysis and expert NFL Free Picks.

NFL Odds

Analysis: I know the New York Giants are playing some pretty horrific football coming into this contest BetUS NFL sports betting members, but I really think they will get their act together at home in this contest against a team I consider one of the biggest bunch of underachievers in all of football, despite their clear lack of gifted athletes that dot their roster on both sides of the ball.

Ironically, both teams have recorded almost identical point total, both offensively and defensively with New York averaging 26.4 points per game and allowing 22.9 points per contest defensively, compared to San Diego’s 26.5-point average and 22.7 points per game they give up defensively.

However, I am going with the New York Giants to win this contest and very narrowly cover the spread as they are in total desperation mode.

The Giants have gone an impressive 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite while San Diego has gone a discouraging 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games and just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.

I know the Giants have gone a dismal 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a winning road record, but I’m taking them to cover the spread in this one with the Chargers going just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record and 0-5 ATS in their last five games following an SU win.

I also think the Over is an excellent play for this matchup, having gone 4-0 in San Diego’s last four road games versus a team with a winning home record and 3-1-1 in New York’s last five games overall.

Play the G-Men minus the five points and the Over BetUS NFL sports betting enthusiasts.
