Pro Football Betting Odds – Jacksonville at Tennessee

Jacksonville (+3) vs. Tennessee (-3)
O/U (45)
Sunday, November 1 4:00 PM ET
The Tennessee Titans (0-6 SU, 1-5 ATS, 4-2 O/U) will be looking to get their first win of the season under young quarterback Vince Young when they host their AFC South rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3 SU, 3-3 ATS, 4-2 O/U), at LP Field on Sunday at 4 PM ET.
The Jaguars have won three of their last four games but barely beat the atrocious St. Louis Rams in Week 6, winning 23- 20 in overtime, but failed to cover the NFL point spread for pro football betting enthusiasts as a 9.5-point home favorite while the game’s final score played Over the 42.5-point O/U total.
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries to lead the Jaguars who were lifted to victory on Josh Scobee’s 36-yard field goal with eight minutes remaining in overtime.
The Titans were blown off the field in Week 6, getting smacked around in their pathetic 59-0 loss to New England, failing to come close to covering the NFL point spread as a 9-point road underdog while the game’s final score played Over the 38.5-point O/U total.
Kerry Collins passed for a mind-blowing negative-seven yards with an interception for Tennessee who got 128 yards on 17 carries from arguably the league’s fastest player, running back Chris Johnson.

Analysis: I have absolutely no idea why head coach Jeff Fisher had to be prompted by owner Bud Adams to start Vince Young at quarterback over veteran signal-caller Kerry Collins, but I am in total agreement with Adams that Young should start with this season now a totally lost cause – and this team looking toward its future that likely won’t include the aging Collins.
I’ll keep this pick short and sweet by simply saying that I like the Tennessee Titans to be energized with Young at the helm and pick up their first win of the season against a mediocre Jaguars team that had to struggle to beat the pitiful Rams two weeks ago.
Neither team has been very good at covering the spread for NFL betting enthusiasts, with the Jaguars going 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss and the Tennessee Titans going a dismal 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games their AFC South division rivals.
I like the Tennessee Titans to win and cover the spread in this one as the Jaguars have gone a dismal 3-7 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Tennessee. I know Vince Young leaves a lot be desired with his field vision and suspect passing from the pocket, but he is supremely athletic and can make pays on the move that most quarterbacks can only dream of.
Besides, BetUS NFL sports betting members, it’s not like the Titans are playing a really good team as Jacksonville Jaguars has been mostly perplexing this season despite entering this contest with a respectable 3-3 SU record.
