NFL Week 17 Patroits @ Bills

The New England Patriots (10-5 SU, 8-7 ATS, 8-6-1 O/U) have won three consecutive games in the BetUS Sportsbook but are still on the brink of playoff extinction.

The Buffalo Bills (7-8 SU, 7-8 ATS, 8-6-1 O/U) picked up a big win the last time they took the field but don’t have much to play for at this point, except playing the role of spoilers.

The longtime AFC East rivals will each look to pick up a victory when they meet at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday.

The Patriots laid an emphatic ‘smackdown’ on the Arizona Cardinals, winning 47-7 on Sunday as an 8-point home favorite in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Quarterback Matt Cassel completed 20 of 36 passes for 345 yards with three touchdowns for New England and wide receiver Randy Moss caught two passes for 87 yards with a touchdown in the win.

"We have no one to be frustrated with but ourselves," Patriots guard Logan Mankins said. "We lost five games."

New England could become the second team to miss the postseason with an 11-5 record since the NFL adopted a 16-game schedule in 1978 if Baltimore wins and the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets on Sunday to claim the AFC East.

"That's not really anything that we have any control over," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. "We're not in the NFC.”

The Bills pulled off a big win on Sunday, beating Denver 30-23 and covering the spread for BetUS NFL sports betting backers as a 6.5-point road underdog last week.

Quarterback Trent Edwards completed 17 of 25 passes for 193 yards with a touchdown for the Bills while running back Fred Jackson rushed for 43 yards and a touchdowns on 10 carries in the win.

"We might not be a playoff team," Jackson said, "but we played like one today."

Here is a look at tonight’s key betting trends followed by my in-depth analysis and NFL Free Pick:

The total has gone OVER in 5 of New England's last 5 games

New England is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing Buffalo

New England is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games when playing on the road against Buffalo

New England is 13-2 SU in its last 15 games on the road

The total has gone UNDER in 15 of Buffalo's last 19 games when playing New England

The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Buffalo's last 10 games when playing at home against New England

Buffalo is 2-7 SU in its last 9 games

Buffalo is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games at home

NFL Odds

New England Patriots -6½ -110

Buffalo Bills +6½ -110

Over 42 -110

Under 42 -110

Analysis: Let me get right to the point by saying that there is absolutely no way on God’s green earth that the New England Patriots fail to win this game despite playing on the road. If Buffalo comes with their collective ‘A’ game they could make it interesting, but I don’t see that happening.
