NFL Week 12 Quick Picks

Redskins Look to Make It Three in a Row against the Spread and Jets Try to End Their Losing Streak against the Carolina Panthers
Kick-off: Washington vs. Philadelphia and Carolina vs. N.Y. Jets at 1:00 pm EST
Often times the most intriguing matchup in the NFL isn’t necessarily the best game on which to wager in the NFL sportsbook.
Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore might be an intriguing and important game to watch and Chicago vs. Minnesota might have a lot of story lines regarding it, but neither game is all that attractive to this NFL betting fan. To me, the best games on which to wager are the ones that provide low betting lines that I believe I can work with.
I believe I’ve found two of those games this Sunday.
Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles >>Get in on the action now – SIGN UP HERE
Kick-off: 1:00 pm EST
NFL odds: Philadelphia -9
Analysis: The Washington Redskins have been terrific the past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago they upset the Denver Broncos at Invesco Field as 3 ½ point underdogs 27 to 17. Then, just this past Sunday, they lost by a single point to the Dallas Cowboys 7 to 6 as 11 point underdogs.
Washington is a big underdog again and, again, figures to do well against the spread. The reason is simple. Teams are finding it difficult to pass against the ‘Skins. The Broncos pass for only 185 yards against the ‘Skins. The Cowboys passed for only 153 yards against Washington.
Philadelphia is a pass first team. They average 246 yards through the air and only 108 yards per game on the ground. Because Washington’s D is going to be able to shut down Philly’s passing game, expect this to be a close one even though the Redskins’ offense might not put up a lot of points.
9 points are just too many to give. Philly should win but they should only win by between 4 to 7 points with a lackluster passing attack in this. The ‘Skins should get their third victory in a row against the spread.
Pick: Washington Redskins

Kick-off: 1:00 pm EST
NFL Odds: New York Jets -3
Analysis: The Panthers have gone 3 and 1 against the spread in their last 4 games. They were favored by 3 ½ at home last Thursday night to beat Miami and failed, but gamblers shouldn’t hold that against them.
Carolina is simply better than the New York Jets right now. DeAngelo Williams has been brilliant carrying the ball for Carolina and is the main reason that this team averages close to 160 yards per game on the ground. The Jets’ D gives up 111 yards per game on the ground and no doubt will have to put an 8th man in the box in order to stop Williams.
That probably won’t keep the Panthers from scoring, however, as QB Jake Delhomme has been throwing the ball much better lately. He was terrible against Miami, but he still threw only 1 interception as opposed to 2 or 3 like he had been doing earlier this season.
When it comes to the Carolina defense, it’s clear that the Panthers’ D isn’t going to have to do much in order to keep the Jets out of the end zone. The Jets have gone 1 and 6 straight-up in their last 7 games. Why? Because of Mark Sanchez who has been atrocious in his rookie year. Sanchez has thrown 6 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in the Jets’ last 7 games including throwing 5 picks in one game against the Buffalo Bills.
No amount of crying from Jets’ Coach Rex Ryan is going to stop Sanchez from throwing picks.
The Jets won’t cover the spread and definitely have a shot at losing this game straight-up to the better team.
Pick: Carolina Panthers
