NFL Game Day Odds: Denver vs Baltimore

Bookmark and Share by Al Simmons

Following a bye week for both teams the Denver Broncos look to remain undefeated as they visit the Baltimore Ravens at 1 PM ET at M&T Bank Stadium in a big NFL week 8 game for all you sports betting fans.

NFL Game Day Odds:

Denver Broncos +3

Baltimore Ravens -3

O/U 41

The Ravens will try to bounce back after losing the last 3 against top teams (Vikings, Bengals and Patriots). They seem to have an identity crisis as they were known for being a big defensive team which just scored enough points to win. Now they are the completely opposite, a high scoring team with a defense that can’t win them the game.

Baltimore’s once a solid defense has been generous given up easy TD thru the air this season. This could be something Kyle Orton and a double threat Broncos receiving crew can take advantage of. The Ravens are ranked 18th in passing defense and has struggled against good QB like Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Carson Palmer.

The key for the Ravens will be pressuring Orton; however it will not be a secure sign for success considering Orton has only one interception and it was in Hail Mary pass as the half was expiring.

"A quarterback ultimately gets judged by that and wins and losses," coach Josh McDaniels said. "So, Kyle obviously has done a nice job so far."

Denver on the other hand has one of the best defensive units in the game. They had only allowed 5 TD (best in the NFL) and are tie with Pittsburgh in sacks to lead the AFC. Expect DE Elvis Dumervil (led the NFL with 10 sacks) to make Joe Flacco’s afternoon a living hell.

“We are not under the radar. ... Everyone is going to give us our best shot, so we've got to be prepared for it." Dumervil said.

Baltimore will try to avoid that pressure by rushing Ray Rice early and often. He leads the league with 766 all-purpose yards, ahead of Titans RB Chris Johnson (722). Rice is on pace to top 2,000 yards this season. "I don't want to be known as just a running back," Rice said Tuesday. "I want to be known as an all-purpose back."

NFL Betting Tip: if you’re betting on this game total keep in mind Denver has gone UNDER in 5 of their last 6 games and Baltimore has gone OVER in 5 of their last 7 games.
