NFL Free Pick - Regrouping Cowboys Host Rejuvenated 49ers

Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

The San Francisco 49ers (3-7, 4-6 ATS, 6-4 O/U) emphatically snapped their six-game losing streak to help head coach Mike Singletary get his first win.

The Dallas Cowboys (6-4, 4-6 ATS, 6-4 O/U) got a huge road win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday, winning 14-10 to move into a tie for second place in the NFC East.

Both teams will be looking to extend their winning ways on Sunday when they battle at Texas Stadium.

Dallas didn’t look particularly in beating the Redskins as quarterback Tony Romo completed 19 of 27 passes for 198 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Running back Marion Barber led the way for the Cowboys on offense, rushing for 114 yards on 24 carries with one touchdown.

"Are we back to the old Cowboys?" receiver Terrell Owens said. "Who knows? But this is definitely a step in the right direction."

Dallas kept Redskins running back Clinton Portis in check, holding him to just 68 yards on 15 carries while covering the spread for BetUS Sportsbook NFL sports betting backers as a 1-point road underdog.

"We had to have this one," Romo said. "I told the guys the time is now. It's a show-me game, we had to go out there and show ourselves and show each other that we can play good football."

The 49ers spanked the St. Louis Rams, winning 35-16 as a 7-point home favorite in Week 11. San Francisco scored all of their points in the first half, including four touchdowns in the second quarter alone.

Quarterback Shaun Hill completed 15 of 20 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns while running back Frank Gore added 106 rushing yards and one touchdown on 18 carries.

"Don't be surprised when things like that happen," said Hill. "We do have the ability to play like that. You can't be surprised or caught off-guard by it. ... We have to enjoy this win. It's been a long time since we've had this feeling, but we can't approach tomorrow any differently than if we had lost."

A feisty Niners defense also picked off Rams quarterback Marc Bulger twice and sacked him four times.

"I'm very humbled by it," said Singletary, who choked up when talking about his late parents following the win. "I just thought about them, and if they could see that. I'm very thankful and very proud, more so for the guys than for myself, because they deserve it."

Analysis: Man, I really love Mike Singletary but his squad is going down in this matchup! The Cowboys need a win here in the worst way in order to build some sort of momentum as the playoffs approach.

Take the Cowboys to rout the 49ers here in a big way.
