New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Game Preview

The snobby fans of New York will get an entire day to hang out with the drunken scum of Philadelphia as the Phillies take on the Yankees and the Eagles host the Giants. Oh what a day it will be! I hope that CNN is ready to cover all the mayhem. And I hope that Eli Manning has figured out whatever’s screwing with his head.

The Giants have lost two straight games to New Orleans and Arizona, and a big reason for that is Eli Manning getting ahead of himself. He’s checking down plays and revealing audibles by screaming the code like he’s big brother Peyton. Knock it off, Eli. Your 27.9 points per game average is getting killed.

Speaking of getting killed, what the hell happened to this defense? They’re allowing 20.4 points per game and 103.6 rushing yards on the ground! That’s not acceptable at all. With Philadelphia being a pass-first team (ridiculous considering that their best veteran at receiver is in his second year) the secondary is going to have to refuse big plays – something they haven’t done well in the past two weeks.

The Giants have a way of tearing Philadelphia apart. They’re 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games and 4-1 ATS on the road in Lincoln Financial. On top of that, they’ve lost just once to the Eagles. I know the Giants have shown up in big games this season, but Philadelphia is a bit of a dud.

McNabb and Westbrook are surrounded by rookies and sophomores. Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy and tight-end Brent Celek are all young guns. New York is a bit on the youthful side as well, but that unit has been together for three years.

Coaching will prevail in this game, which is why I’m going with Tom Coughlin. Andy Reid lets his ego get in the way far too often, and being tricky will get him nowhere but the unemployment line. I don’t trust the Eagles when they’ play the Giants. Hell, I don’t trust anything or anyone from Philly ever.
