NFL Week 12 - Best Teams to Bet the OVER
by Mike Rose
BetUS Sportsbook presents this week's NFL power rankings for which teams that BetUS NFL handicapping experts have been making money on with 'overs' so far this season...
1: Philadelphia Eagles (7-3) (LW: 1) The Eagles tried hard to push their Sunday nighter against the Bears past the number, but we'll give them a pass for this 'under' and keep them in the top spot because they are still scoring points hand over fist in most of their games. One more slip up won't be so excusable, though.
Up Next: Home vs. Redskins (40.5)
2: New York Giants (6-3-1) (LW: 8) It's hard not to move the Giants all the way up in this poll after cashing in an 'over' in a week infested with 'unders' for the traditional 'over' teams in the NFL this year. With 17 points scored in every game this season, the 'over' is never out of reach in New York games.
Up Next: Away vs. Broncos (42)
3: Atlanta Falcons (7-3) (LW: NR) The Falcons narrowly missed out on the 'over' poll last week, but this week, they come flying up the charts after notching their seventh cash of the season. It was also their fifth straight 'over' game. The defense has allowed at least 28 points in four of those five, but that should all come to an end with Tampa Bay coming to town this weekend.
Up Next: Home vs. Buccaneers (46)
4: Miami Dolphins (6-4) (LW: 2) The Wildcat may not have been on display, but that didn't stop Miami's rushing attack from running all over the Panthers on Thursday night. The victory was nice for the Fins, but 'over' bettors were saddened by the 20-17 result. Until this team finds a real offensive identity without RB Ronnie Brown, Miami is going to be a hard squad to gauge 'totals' with.
Up Next: Away vs. Bills (40)
5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4) (LW: 3) Tampa Bay's defense definitely did not do its job on Sunday afternoon, allowing 38 points to QB Drew Brees and the Saints. Only the Lions are allowing more points per game than the Bucs, who have conceded at least 24 points in all but one game this year.
Up Next: Away vs. Falcons (46)
6: New Orleans Saints (6-4) (LW: 4) It's really amazing that the Saints haven't played more 'over' games than this considering they’re averaging 36.9 points per game. Could the 'over' get back into focus for New Orleans after another 'under' against the Bucs? Expect to see some fireworks when the Pats and their 37.2 points per game average in their L/5 invade the Bayou.
Up Next: Home vs. Patriots (56)
7: Minnesota Vikings (6-4) (LW: 5) QB Brett Favre chucked four touchdown passes, but 'over' bettors have the lack of Seattle offense to thank for a loser on Sunday. After allowing just 19 points over the L/2 games, Minnesota's defense has to be licking its chops about the prospects of facing QB Jay Cutler and the Bears.
Up Next: Home vs. Bears (46.5)
8: Tennessee Titans (6-4) (LW: 7) Even though the Titans and Texans looked like they were playing a back and forth game in the first half, a sluggish second half that resulted in no touchdowns ended any hope of Tennessee's 'over' run continuing. HC Jeff Fisher won't mind though, as his team is officially back in the playoff picture.
Up Next: Home vs. Cardinals (OTB)
