NFL Playoff Betting Colts vs Chargers Simulation
by Mike Rose

Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers 8:00 ET NBC
Weather: Partly cloudy in the evening with a chance of rain; Lows 43 to 49.
It might come as a shock that neither of these two squads won their respective divisions this season after doing so last year, but both the Indaianapolis Colts (12-4, 8-7-1 ATS) and San Diego Chargers (8-8, 7-8-1 ATS) will meet in the playoffs for the second time in as many years; kick-off is slated for 8:00 ET and the game can be seen nationally on NBC. The Colts were a losing investment for NFL bettors on the road this season after compiling a 3-5 ATS mark while San Diego cost its betting backers juice by posting a 4-4 ATS record at home.
Indianapolis earned its post-season bid a couple weeks ago and played in a meaningless game at home against the Tennessee Titans last week. Manning and the rest of the starters only played one series and then gave way to the back-ups for the rest of the game. The Colts blanked the disinterested Titans 23-0 to win their ninth game in a row, and come into this wild card match-up the hottest team in the NFL.
The Chargers found themselves in a “do or die” situation last week against the Denver Broncos. The winner would punch its ticket to the post-season and win the AFC West, while the loser would be sent home forced only to look forward to next season. San Diego ran a clinic on how to destroy your opponent on NBC’s Sunday Night Football finale, as it coasted to the easy 52-21 home win and cover as seven-point home chalks. They’ve now won four games in a row and posted a 3-1 ATS sports betting record during that stretch.
These clubs last met back in Week 12 of this season, and it was the Colts that scratched out the 23-20 outright win as three-point underdogs. The win avenged their AFC divisional round loss to the Chargers last year in the RCA Dome. SD triumphed 28-24 as lofty 10.5-point road underdogs in that game, and the combined 52 points went over the 46-point closing ‘total’. Each team has secured three SU victories in the teams L/6 meetings, but the road team and underdog have been money in the bank for NFL bettors. The underdog is a perfect 6-0 ATS and the road team is 5-1 ATS during that stretch. San Diego is 4-1 ATS the L/5 times it’s taken on Manning and the Colts vaunted offensive attack, and they’re a perfect 4-0 ATS the L/4 times they’ve been installed a home underdog.
FINAL SCORE: INDIANAPOLIS 34 SAN DIEGO 31
This game simulation calls for an Indianapolis cover and for the game to go over the posted ‘Total’. You can get Indy (-1) –110 and the over 51 –110 at BetUS.com right now!!!

If you like offense, then this game mustn’t be missed! There were over 1000 yards of combined yardage posted, and gobs of big plays on offense for both teams. QB Peyton Manning had a monster game passing for 300+ yards and WR Reggie Wayne was the beneficiary by hauling in better than 2/3rd’s of his total output. The Chargers did pull off the tying score in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, but the Colts won the toss in the extra session and pulled out the road win and cover to move onto the divisional round.
