Although I’m going through more than my share of drama with my racist, career-suppressing employer in Marshall, Missouri I’ve still got a job to do for several other newspapers and online websites across the country - and no matter how hard someone tries to stop me or how many times the ugly head of racism tries to raise up against me and many other people of all colors across the globe, I will not be intimidated or bullied into giving up my dreams - like writing this column.
At any rate, enough about my personal life, which is actually quite boring when I’m not dealing with the daily b.s. at work.
I’ve got picks to make and damnit, that’s what I’m going to do.
So, without further adieu, awaaaaay we go.

Buffalo at Miami -4
I know Miami has a losing record this season, but rookie head coach, Nick Saban has gotten his players to compete hard in every game this year. For a team that was supposed to compete for the AFC east title, Buffalo has been uninspiring on several occasions this year. Take Miami to win this game outright and cover in the process. Miami 24 Buffalo 17.

Cincinnati /x-tad-smaller>at Pittsburgh -3
Although I really like the Bengals this year, I think the Steelers will once again win this AFC North matchup - especially after the drubbing they took last Monday at the hand of the Indianapolis Colts. Take the Steelers to cover once again. Pittsburgh 21 Cincinnati 17.

Houston at Baltimore -8 /x-tad-smaller>
This game is going to be absolutely U-G-L-Y. However, I’ve got to take the Texans to cover the spread in this one. I know David Carr is usually lying in a prone position for the majority of every game he has ever played in Houston, but the Ravens have been just as atrocious this season. Baltimore 20 Houston 14.
/x-tad-smaller>
Tennessee /x-tad-smaller>at Indianapolis -16
This game could be over by halftime. Take the Colts to win by three touchdowns. Indianapolis 35 Tennessee 14. Then again, you never know what Jeff Fisher has up his sleeve. Just kidding.
/x-tad-smaller>
Jacksonville -3 at Cleveland/x-tad-smaller>
Romeo Crennel has gotten the Browns to play hard all season long and although they are only 4-7, I like the Browns to cover this spread especially since Byron Leftwich isn’t playing for the Jags. Cleveland 17 Jacksonville 14.
/x-tad-smaller>
Dallas at NY Giants -3 /x-tad-smaller>
Dallas is struggling mightily with their running game and the Giants have been the unfortunate losers of some close games this year. I like the G-Men to bounce back from last week’s devastating loss to win and cover in this one. New York 31 Dallas 24.

Green Bay /x-tad-smaller>at Chicago -7.5

Green Bay /x-tad-smaller>at Chicago -7.5
The Packers are disgraceful and the Bears are soaring, Duh, I’ll take Da Bears to win and cover easily. Chicago 24 Green Bay 10.
/x-tad-smaller>
Minnesota -3 at Detroit/x-tad-smaller>
Hmmmm. The Lions are disgraceful and the Vikings are soaring. Duh, I’ll take the Vikings to cover this one easily. Huh? Didn’t I just write that? Oh well. Minnesota 31 Detroit 21.

Atlanta /x-tad-smaller>at Carolina -3

Atlanta /x-tad-smaller>at Carolina -3
This should be quite a game. Both teams have a chance to reach the conference finals. Unfortunately only one can win this game. I like the Panthers to frustrate Michael Vick and cover the spread in this one. Carolina 28 Atlanta 24.
/x-tad-smaller>
Tampa Bay -4 at New Orleans/x-tad-smaller>
What were the oddsmakers thinking with this line? The Bucs are going to totally destroy the Saints. Tampa Bay 35 New Orleans 14.
/x-tad-smaller>
Arizona -3 at San Francisco/x-tad-smaller>
The 49ers have played hard all season long. The Cardinals have underachieved mightily. When the 49ers have come out with a poor performance, they’ve usually followed that up with a good one. Take the Niners and the points. San Fran 28 Arizona 21.
/x-tad-smaller>
Washington -3.5 at St. Louis/x-tad-smaller>
I like Ike. Ooops, I mean I like the Skins. Both of these teams have plenty of room for improvement but at least the Redskins have shown some resiliency. Washington 35 St. Louis 31.
/x-tad-smaller>
NY Jets /x-tad-smaller>at New England -10

NY Jets /x-tad-smaller>at New England -10
Let’s see. The Pats took it on the chin last week and the Jets can’t find any daylight right now at high noon with a flashlight. Take the Pats to trounce their divisional arch rivals but two touchdowns. New England 31 New York 17
/x-tad-smaller>
Denver -1.5 at Kansas City/x-tad-smaller>
I think Denver is just a better team overall. I know it’s tough to play in Arrowhead Stadium, but I like Denver in this one. Denver 31 Kansas City 28.
/x-tad-smaller>
Oakland at San Diego -11 /x-tad-smaller>
San Diego has played great all season and the Raiders have underachieved in the greatest sense of the word. So why am I taking the Raiders? I don’t have the foggiest idea. San Diego 35 Oakland 28.
/x-tad-smaller>
Monday Night Football Point Spread/x-tad-smaller>
/x-tad-smaller>Seattle -4.5 at Philadelphia/x-tad-smaller>
It’s chilly in Philly which is a good thing for the Eagles. McNabb or not, the Eagles are not only going to cover - but win. Philadelphia 24 Seattle 21.
