NFL Lines AFC South Week 17 Matchup
by Mike Rose

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts 1:00 PM ET
Two teams that already have their playoff seeds determined will square off meet in a hard to predict sports betting match-up this Sunday when the Tennessee Titans (13-2 SU, 12-2-1 ATS) head to Lucas Oil Stadium to face the Indianapolis Colts (11-4 SU, 6-8-1 ATS). Tennessee comes into this game having clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs last week after a blistering 31-14 NFL wagering win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Indianapolis, meanwhile, is now locked into the #5 seed in the AFC playoffs after an exciting come from behind win against the Jaguars in Jacksonville last Thursday night.
For a team that many thought would come in last place in the AFC South, the Titans have had a remarkable season en route to securing the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs. Tennessee, led by journeyman quarterback Kerry Collins who took the reins over from Vince Young after a Week 1 injury, has pleasantly surprised NFL bettors with its league best 12-2-1 ATS record. Collins’ numbers (58.4% completion percentage for 2677 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions) aren’t the best, but his piloting of the Titan offense has the media outlets lauding the leadership that he possesses.
In their last game against the Steelers, Collins put together a solid performance by completing 20 of 29 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown to push the Titans to a victory against the pro football odds. Even more impressively, Collins and the offense were the first offense to rack up over 300 total yards against the Steelers this season.
During a long career of fantastic performances, Colts QB Peyton Manning put together one of his most impressive games against the Jaguars last Thursday night. Manning completed 29 of his 34 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Colts back from a double digit deficit to a 31-24 win against the NFL betting line. Despite their poor record against the NFL odds, the Colts have won eight straight to save their season and make the playoffs for the seventh straight season.
Manning’s 2008 stats have him as the frontrunner for the NFL MVP award as well as propelling him to the starting quarterback in the Pro Bowl, again. Colts bettors have seen WR Reggie Wayne also have another fantastic season en route to another Pro Bowl appearance, catching 81 passes for 1130 yards and six touchdowns with one game left to play.
Pro football betting trends for NFL gamblers to be aware of prior to handicapping this game are as follows: Tennessee is 5-0 ATS in its last five games against Indianapolis, the ‘over’ is 5-0 in all Colts games against division opponents this season, and the Colts are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games against fellow AFC South teams.
BetUS Sportsbook has the Titans installed as a field goal road favorite with a game ‘total’ of 38.5 points.
