NFL Betting Game of the Day - Dallas vs. Washington

It’s once again time for the Cowboys and Redskins to battle it out on the grid-iron. The Redskins actually beat the Cowboys the first time they played. Now the surprise Skins host the ‘Boys for their second game. The Redskins have been a good team for NFL online betting fans.
They are currently 6 and 3 straight-up and 5 and 4 against the BetUS Sportsbook betting spread. The Skins have a very good offense, but one of the problems they might be facing in this game, and it’s a big one for not only the Skins but for sports betting fans as well, is that MVP candidate Clinton Portis may not be able to play. If that happens, then the Skins could be in some trouble.
The Dallas Cowboys need to get back on track. Can they? I’m not sure that they can. They have all of the ingredients to be one of the top teams in the NFL but once Tony Romo went down, their team went south. Now, the truth has come out that the ‘Boys had doubts about their greatness well before Romo went down. Romo is back, but this team still has a porous defense and trouble protecting the quarterback. Online NFL betting fans can’t be happy with Dallas’s season has gone so far.
Here are the BetUS online NFL betting odds for this game:
Kick-off: 11/16/2008 8:15 pm est.
Dallas Cowboys + 1 ½ - 110 O 43 ½ - 110
Washington Redskins - 1 ½ - 110 U 43 ½ - 110
Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game:
The Dallas Cowboys are 2 and 6 against the spread in their last 8 games on the road.
The Over is 4 and 1 in the Dallas Cowboys last 5 games against an NFC Conference opponent.
The Washington Redskins are 4 and 0 against the spread in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
The Under is 4 and 0 in the Washington Redskins last 4 games at home.
I’m going to forget about Portis playing or not and just concentrate on the defenses. The bottom line in this game is that the Cowboys have a bad defense and the Redskins have a great defense.
I don’t believe that Tony Romo, coming off of an injury, will be ready to lead the Cowboys to victory in Washington D.C. over a Redskins team coming off of a bye week.
Even without Portis, running back Ladell Betts might be good enough to help the Skins defeat the Cowboys for the second time this season.
The online wagering odds make the Skins an overlay. The Washington Redskins aren’t just a great online betting play. They are the online bet of the week.
