Monday Night Football Betting: TO vs Randy Moss

NFL: Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots
Game-day: 9/14/2009
Kick-off: 7:00 pm EST
Tradition is now set with the NFL showcasing two games on Monday. The first game, the early game, will pit the Buffalo Bills against the New England Patriots. The NFL odds on the game might surprise some betting fans as the New England Patriots, with an already banged up Tom Brady under center, are a huge favorites to beat the Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo has their own issues. In fact because they just dropped their offensive coordinator before the season started, the NFL odds on this game might make total sense. It’s going to be tough to institute a brand new offense, or have the quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs take directions from a new coordinator without practice. Buffalo has about seven days of practice before doing it, but that practice might not be enough.
Here are the NFL odds in the BetUS online sportsbook for this game.
Buffalo Bills +10 ½ -110 +500 O 47 ½ -110
New England Patriots -10 ½ -110` -700 U 47 ½ -110
Here are a few online wagering trends for this game.
- The Buffalo Bills are 1 and 5 ATS in their last 6 games versus a team from the AFC East.
- The Buffalo Bills are 2 and 6 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams in New England.
- The Under is 9 and 1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in New England.
- The Under is 19 and 7 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams.
Make no mistake the New England Patriots are going to put up some points, but their defense isn’t very good. Does that mean that the Buffalo Bills put up points? Maybe, maybe not.
The truth is that the Bills just aren’t going to be very solid in this game with a new offensive coordinator. That just doesn’t happen in the NFL which is why the NFL odds are what they are in this game.
The New England Patriots could put up 21 to 42 points in this game depending on how Buffalo’s defense responds after the initial score. In any case, I don’t see the Bills doing much on offense which causes a dilemma as far as the NFL odds are concerned. What bet makes the most sense in this game?
Buffalo’s defense lost starter Jabari Greer over the off season to the New Orleans Saints. They aren’t capable of stopping that New England offense which means that even though I hate to give up so many points this early in the NFL Season, I have to do it. The best of wager above is on New England at -10 ½ in the sportsbook.
I’m going to go with the New England Patriots to cover at the NFL odds of -10 ½ -110 in the BetUS online sportsbook.
