Chargers Hit Road to Face Raiders Looking For Consecutive Wins

The San Diego Chargers (1-2 SU, 1-1-1 ATS, 3-0 O/U), knew they couldn’t fall into an 0-3 hole after losing their first two games of the season in heart-breaking fashion, so they did something about it - like thrashing the New York Jets 48-29 on Monday night.
Now, the Chargers will look to make it two straight when they take on Al Davis’ dysfunctional Oakland Raiders (1-2 SU, 2-1 ATS, 2-1 O/U).
"It didn't matter how any of us felt. We were going to do what we had to do to win this game," Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson said. "We needed this bad. If we lost this game, we go 0-3 and I don't know what's going to happen. For us to get that first win, there is a sigh of relief."
Quarterback Philip Rivers equaled his career-high by tossing three touchdowns and the Chargers active defense sacked Jets quarterback Brett Favre three times and intercepted him twice, including a 52-yard ‘pick-six’ by All-Pro cornerback Antonio Cromartie.
"It's good to win a game," Rivers said. "We needed to win a game. I think you saw what this team can do and the big plays we can make."
The Chargers will face a Raiders team that allowed the Buffalo Bills to score 17 points in the final eight minutes and ended up losing 24-23 on Buffalo kicker Rian Lindell’s 38-yard field goal as time expired.
"It was a very disappointing loss, especially the way it finished," Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin said.
Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell completed 9-of-19 passes for 156 yards with one touchdown pass and another touchdown run.
