NCAA Football Heisman Race – Bradford and Daniel Leading Charge
by Tim Furious

Only one new name cracks the rankings as the college football betting season continues to steamroll through the year. Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel are the clear favorites, and their definitive matchup down the road will generate a ton of action in the BetUS sportsbook for good reason. Two running-backs still remain in the race but only two backs have won the trophy in the last decade. Ron Dayne took it home in 1999 and the electrifying (in college anyways) Reggie Bush won in 2005.
Chase Daniel (QB) – Missouri Tigers
With the Tigers stomping Buffalo 42-21 behind Daniel’s monster 439 yard performance, with two touchdowns to boot, Daniel is now the definitive favorite to win the Heisman. His fifth ranked Tigers stand as +900 favorites to win the BCS Championship and Daniel will be heralded as their champion if, and only if, they squeak past…
Next Game: BYE
Sam Bradford (QB) – Oklahoma Sooners
…the Sooners stumble down the road. Bradford and company had the week off, allowing Chase Daniel to catch up to Bradford’s ridiculous numbers. With 882 passing yards and 12 touchdowns on the season, Bradford will have to have another enormous performance against a rigid TCU defense to stay on the ballot. The uphill climb continues for the surging sophomore, especially with his main competition being a senior. Never fear, however, because those that bet on Oklahoma football this weekend will line their pockets with green.
Next Game: TCS vs. Oklahoma -18.5
Knowshon Moreno (RB) – Georgia Bulldogs
Moreno continues to be overshadowed by the quarterback candidates despite solid performances. Posting 149 yards and two scores during a rousing defeat of the Arizona State Sun Devils should have put him in the lead, but Daniel’s performance trumped that. Bet on Georgia to continue on to the BCS Championship, despite slipping in the rankings thanks to the hard-on the committee continues to have for the big name programs.
Next Game: Alabama vs. Georgia -7.5
Javon Bringer (RB) – Michigan State Spartans
Say hello to the guy who was bringing the pain to Notre Dame’s face all weekend long. Bringer ran for 201 yards and two scores, to bring his season total up to 611 yards and 11 touchdowns. Not bad for a buy you’ve never heard of, right? If Knowshon is going to get the nod for bulldogging Georgia to victory, than Javon Bringer deserves some noise too. We’re glad to give it to him at BetUS.com, especially with Michigan State being a fairly unheralded team. They stand at +5000 odds to appear in the BCS Championship and hoist the trophy.
Next Game: Mich St. -8.5 vs. Indiana
Tim Tebow (QB) – Florida Gators
For his long term health, it’s probably smart that Tebow isn’t lowering the boom on those bruising, battering ram runs. The Gators are winning too, which helps. But if Tebow wants to repeat as a Heisman winner, he’ll have to do way better than 489 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season. I’d be surprised to see him here next week. A sub-100-yard performance in passing last week against Tennessee didn’t help at all.
Next Game: Missouri vs. Florida -24
