Miami Hurricanes +3 over GEORGIA TECH YELLOW JACKETS
The Canes are 5-0 SU and are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games. Tech lost to UNC last weekend in a blowout and has failed to beat good teams this season. Unless you count Clemson as a formidable opponent, which you wouldn’t if you were smart. Miami is turning things around this season, and are 7-3 SU on the season. A tight win over Virginia Tech last weekend proves that they’re ready for the big time.
UNC TAR HEELS -12.5 over North Carolina State Wolfpack
Jesus. Who in God’s name is going to be watching this game? The Tar Heels are the better team, especially after demolishing Georgia Tech last weekend. They’re 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games and the intelligent sports betting crowd has been profiting off of these off-radar Tar Heels for the last few weeks. Get on board.
OHIO STATE BUCKEYES -20.5 OVER Michigan Wolverines
Nice job, Coach Rodriguez. The new head coach of Michigan told his fan base to “get a life” after the Wolverines fell to any abysmal 3-8 SU record this season. Going 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games will also serviceably get the Michigan betting investors angry too. Bet Buckeyes large and be happy. Pryor and Moreno are the future.
FLORIDA GATORS over Citadel Bulldogs
Tim Tebow has launched himself in to the Heisman Race by bulldozing in 11 rushing touchdowns so far. That has catapulted the Gators to 44.1 points per game, while their astounding defense has allowed only 11.3 points per game. If you can find a line on this game, bet heavy on the Gators.
Michigan State Spartans +14.5 over PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS
Javon Ringer has been a Heisman underdog the entire season, and Shonn Green of Iowa is decimating his candidacy. Visiting the Penn State Lions will prove a tough test for the Spartans. But their betting faithful shouldn’t be dismayed by the Spartans because they’re 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and are 9-1 SU in their last 10. They may not be able to win, but a cover is in the works.
TCU HORNED FROGS -19.5 over Air Force Falcons
I love the Horned Frogs so much because of their swarming defense. Mostly it makes my stupid imagination run wild with thoughts of blood thirsty frogs chasing down football players in the backfield. I know it’s a stupid thing to think, but even dumber would be betting against the Frogs this weekend against a pitiful Air Force team that will get blown up by a strong opponent.
Mississippi Rebels +3 over LSU TIGERS
As good as LSU can be, they’re still 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games. They’re also winless against the spread in their five home games this season. When Mississippi visits the Tigers this weekend, they’ll bring their 6-1 ATS record against LSU at Tiger Stadium with them. You’ve been warned.
Boise State Broncos -6 over NEVADA WOLF PACK
The undefeated Broncos are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games and have faced stiffer competition than the Wolf Pack this season. Though they’ll be on the road, you should be encouraged by the 7-1 ATS record the Broncos have over Nevada in their last 8 meetings.
Oregon State Beavers +2.5 over ARIZONA WILDCATS
The Beavers have had the Wildcats’ number for the past ten years. Arizona recorded two victories in their past 10 meetings and the Beavers are one of those teams that can run wild when they get rolling. The Wildcats’ defense ranks 48th in the country and the burly Beavers will take them to task and reward their betting faithful this weekend with the points.
BYU Cougars +7 over UTAH UTES
Utah is undefeated on the season and has gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games. But their secondary, which holds opponents to 190.3 yards per game, hasn’t been tested like this before. BYU averages 319.0 yards per game through the air behind Max Hall, a one time Heisman hopeful. I just don’t foresee the Utes marching through the season undefeated. This is where they stand…and lose.
Pittsburgh Panthers +5 over CINCINNATI BEARCATS
Though the Bearcats have been a decent spread buster this season, Pittsburgh has been one of those teams that can surprise even the best. The tipper in this game is the Louisville games these opponents have had. Pittsburgh destroyed the Cardinals 41-7, while the Bearcats squeezed a 28-20 victory out. Sometimes the writing is on the wall.
MARYLAND TERRAPINS over Florida State Seminoles
Usually when there’s a pick ‘em game in college football, I take the home team. The Terrapins are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and face a Florida State team that will have to travel to a cold weather environment. Bet Maryland and be happy.
Texas Tech Raiders +7 over OKLAHOMA SOONERS
The implications in this game are absolutely massive. Texas Tech has rocked the nation for 47.9 points per game and stunned Texas and throttled Oklahoma State. Now the Sooners, riding a four-game winning streak since losing to Texas in October will face the challenge of a lifetime. Their season hinges on this game, and that kind of pressure proved too much the last time around. Sam Bradford is about to give up the Heisman to Graham Harrell, who faces a defense that ranks 79th against the pass.
