NCAAF Quick Picks - Two Pac 10 Games Highlight Week 12
Kick-off: Cal vs. Stanford at 7:30 pm EST and Oregon vs. Arizona at 8:00 pm EST
The Pac 10 is the last remaining major conference yet to decide their champion.
Okay, that’s not exactly true, but the rest of the conferences have at least an idea of who will represent them in the BCS Bowl Series.
The SEC is going to come down to either Florida or Alabama. The Big 12 is gong to come down to a loser team and Texas. The Big Ten has already been won by the Ohio State Buckeyes.
That leaves the Pac 10 to provide the last remaining drama during the regular season. Let’s take a look at two intriguing Pac 10 games this Saturday.
Join now to bet on Oregon -6 vs Arizona
California Golden Bears vs. Stanford Cardinal
Kick-off: 7:30 pm EST
NCAAF Odds: Stanford -7 ½
Analysis: The Stanford Cardinal is playing better football right now than any team in college football. Any team.
That makes them a virtual lock to cover the 7 ½ point spread in this game. California got lucky against the Arizona Wildcats last week and although their offense is decent, the Cardinal’s offense is spectacular.
Not only that, but the Golden Bears are going to be without top offensive threat Jahvid Best yet again and this is a rivalry game. Stanford has outscored arguably the two best teams in the Pac 10, Oregon and USC, 106 to 63 the past two weeks. What chance does Cal have against that type of firepower?
None. Zero. Stanford is an easy play this Saturday.
Pick: Stanford Cardinal at -7 ½
Oregon Ducks vs. Arizona Wildcats
Kick-off: 8:00 pm EST
NFL Odds: Oregon -6
Analysis: Former Raider wide receiver, the brilliant Tim Brown, has chosen this game as his Game of the Week. Check it out on Betflix: http://video.betus.com/
It’s difficult to argue against Brown. Oregon should only have one loss on their schedule as they were rolling right along until Coach Jim Harbaugh got the Stanford Cardinal right. With Stanford suddenly looking like one of the best teams in college football after their 55 to 21 destruction of USC last Saturday, Oregon’s loss doesn’t look that bad.
‘Zona should have beaten Cal last week, but even if they had, their chances of thumping Oregon in this game really aren’t very good. T.B. makes the point in his video that the AZ heat could affect the Ducks. It could, but having done my college work in Tucson, I can tell you the more than likely it’s going to be perfect football weather this Saturday.
Expect the Ducks to roll in this game. The ‘Cats just can’t keep up with an Oregon team that should be able to put up close to 14 points in each quarter and Arizona’s D tends to over run plays at times. This is a no-brainer. Oregon all the way.
