The LSU Tigers travel to Oxford to visit the 4 point favorite Mississippi Rebels at Vaught- Hemingway Stadium at 3:30 PM ET.
Betting Odds:
LSU Tigers +4
Mississippi Rebels -4
0/U 42
LSU´s conference title dreams are gone but they will try to close the season strong after beating Louisiana Tech 24-16 last week; the Rebels on the other side are coming off two wins in a row, the last one 42-17 over Tennessee.
Rebels QB Javon Snead is not having an impressive season so far with 17 TD and 14 INT; however he is 17 yards away from joining Eli Manning as the only quarterbacks in school history to throw for 2,000 yards in consecutive seasons.
Snead will face a defense that has 12 INTs so far this season while only allowing 10 passing TDs. Expect Snead to look for senior WR Shay Hodge, he is the kind of WR that could put up some big yards after the catch.
On the other side LSU QB Jordan Jefferson is expected to play after missing the game last week with a sprained ankle. "We expect Jordan to play," Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt said. "He sat out last week and we are fully expecting him to play."
However don´t expect Jefferson to have a big impact on the game, even when he was healthy he managed the games but didn´t win them by himself.
"I think for me it's the opportunity to play well," coach Les Miles said. "The finish that we'd all like is to be a team ranked five and above and to be an elite team in this conference. That's how we see ourselves."
If Jefferson gets enough time in the pocket to throw down the field he will be looking for WRs Brandon LaFell and Terrance Toliver. The Mississippi D doesn´t have a lot of playmakers in the secondary but they defend against the pass well.
Keep in mind LSU is 4-8-1 ATS in its last 13 games on the road and Mississippi is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 games when playing LSU. Also if you´re betting on the game total it has gone UNDER in 6 if LSU´s last 8 games.
