BetUS NCAA Betting Odds: WYOMING -3
Here are some of the NCAA football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* AF has won six of its last eight games SU
* AF has covered seven of its last eight games
* AF has played six of its last eight games OVER the total
* AF has covered four of its last six road games
* AF has played four of its last five road games OVER the total
* WYO is 0-8 ATS in its last eight games
* WYO has lost four of its last five games SU
* WYO has played four of its last six games OVER the total
* WYO has won eight of its last ten home games SU
* WYO has covered five of the last seven meetings
Okay - nobody wants to become overly excited by a win over Southern Utah, but the Air Force Falcons debuted QB Sean Smith and the senior, who had thrown only 12 passes in his entire career prior to this, completed eight of a dozen throws, not to mention rushing for 91 of the Falcons' 433 yards on the ground, which featured four ball carriers topping 60 yards,. Sure, the opposition wil get stronger, but Air Force was able to execute, which is important, especially in third down situations, where they were 11 for 19.
Can Wyoming offer much stiffer opposition, after watching the Cowboys' close call against MAC foe Ohio at home, as they had to score midway through the fourth quarter to come away with the 21-20 win. Dax Crum tossed two interceptions for Wyoming, and Ohio kept this thing a nail-biter despite gaining 1.9 yards per carry and sustaining 115 yards assessed on penalties.
The injury absence of tight end Travis Dekker means Smith will be missing an important "go-to" guy for his throws. And Wyoming has some revenge on its mind after a very bitter pill they had to swallow in last year's game, as a fumble return for a TD turned the tide in the 20-12 Air Force triumph at Colorado Springs. But hey - before we start laying points with the Cowboys, these guys have to demonstrate that they can reward their backers. The Cowboys have now dropped eight in a row and have covered three of their last 18 games.
That kind of stuff hardly gets us interested. We're more interested in an offensive atack, with disciplined people, which is being retooled, rather than one that has been somewhat re-designed. We'll grab the points with Air Force, the three-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA football betting odds.
