Time: 8:00 p.m. ESTThe first ever Las Vegas Bowl kicked off on Dec. 18, 1992, and this season features BYU, the winners of the MWC conference, against the # 4 from the Pac-10. For a decade the game was known primarily as the first bowl game of the year, an honor now belonging to the Poinsettia Bowl. The first-ever Division I-A overtime game took place at the 1995 Las Vegas Bowl when Toledo outlasted Nevada 40-37. St. Louis Rams star running back Steven Jackson was the Bowl’s MVP in 2003.

Time: 8:00 p.m. ESTLike the New Orleans Saints returning to the Superdome, college football’s New Orleans Bowl also returns triumphantly home. Last year the game dubbed the “New Orleans Bowl in Lafayette” had to be played at the University’s Cajun Field in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The game features the champion from the Sun Belt against a team from Conference USA. Southern Mississippi has won the last two New Orleans Bowl games.

This game will stage plenty of patriotic pre-game fanfare including a fighter jet flyover, helicopter flyover and skydiving demonstration.

Hawaii traditionally receives a bid regardless of the standings, provided it is bowl eligible.

In 2002, Mississippi quarterback Eli Manning was awarded the game’s MVP after he helped the Ole Miss Rebels down Nebraska.

Hendricks MVPs Thurman Thomas and Priest Holmes share the Sun Bowl record with four touchdowns in a game.

Time: 4:30 p.m. ESTThe Liberty Bowl was the only cold-weather bowl in its early years from 1959-63 before it became the first bowl game ever played indoors at the Convention Hall in Atlantic City in 1964. It found a more permanent home in Memphis where its tradition has flourished since ‘65. This season the game hosts the winner of Conference USA against a team from the SEC. The Liberty bowl has been host to four Heisman Trophy winners: Ernie Davis, Terry Baker, Doug Flutie and Bo Jackson.

This year the Big Ten representatives, the Iowa Hawkeyes will take on Texas Longhorns from the Big 12 conference. 2006's installment earned a 5.41 rating making it the most-watched college football game in ESPN history as more than 7.8 million viewers saw the telecast.

In 2005, the Bowl reached a new level of prestige with it’s first-ever match-up of Top 10-rated teams, however the 40-3 LSU blowout against Miami did not live up to the hype.
