NCAA Football Betting: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Arizona State Sun Devils
by Tim Furious

Game-day: 9/20/2009
Kick-off: 8:00 pm EST.
The real season begins for the Georgia Bulldogs as they travel to Tempe to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils. Georgia, everybody’s pre-season number one pick to win the BCS Championship, looked every bit the college football betting fan’s dream when they walloped Georgia Southern and Central Michigan in their first two games of the season. Then they stubbed their toe against the online betting spread in their third game of the season versus the South Carolina Gamecocks. That shouldn’t bother online sportsbook fans too much. The Bulldogs are a fantastic team. Sure, they barely beat the Gamecocks, they were favored by more than a touchdown and won 14 to 7, but that’s not a serious issue. Not really. SEC games are almost always close.
A more serious issue can be found in Tempe where the highly touted Arizona State Sun Devils dropped a game to the UNLV Running Rebels in overtime last Saturday. Seriously, before you can start clamoring that you can take down the USC Trojans in the Pac-10, you had better be sure you can beat a team like UNLV. Against the online betting spread the Sun Devils covered versus Northern Arizona and Stanford but then, obviously, didn’t versus the Running Rebels.
Here are the BetUS Sportsbook online NCAAF betting odds for this game.
Georgia Bulldogs - 8 - 110 - 300 O 50 ½ - 110
Arizona State Sun Devils + 8 - 110 + 250 U 50 ½ - 110
Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 5 and 0 versus a team with a winning record.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 non-conference games.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are 1 and 6 against the spread in their last 7 games overall.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are 1 and 4 against the spread in their last 5 games at home.
The online betting odds went from Georgia – 7 to Georgia – 8 in a few days. To me, that means that college football betting fans are making a statement in favor of Georgia and against the Sun Devils.
It doesn’t matter really because the fact of the matter is that the Sun Devils have little chance of stopping that excellent Georgia offense. South Carolina did, but South Carolina has a very good defense.
Georgia should score at will, but the Sun Devils should be good for at least 21 to 24 points in this game. The Sun Devils will find out early that if they are to have any chance against the Bulldogs they will have to air it out with abandon. Because of that, I really like the over in this game.
The BetUS online sportsbook over/under in this game is + 50 ½. It seems high, but these two teams could end up involved in a Cowboys/Eagles type slugfest this Saturday.
I’ll be making an online bet on this game to go over the BetUS online sportsbook over/under of 50 ½.
