NCAA Football Betting - Army Cadets at Tulane Green Wave
by Charles Jay

Saturday, October 4
The Cadets of Army (0-4 SU, 1-2 ATS) will try to get their first win of the season on the board on Saturday, when they take on the Tulane Green Wave (2-2 SU, 3-1 ATS) in an NCAA college football game that is slated for a 3 PM ET kickoff at the Louisiana Superdome (artificial turf) in New Orleans.
BetUS NCAAF Betting Odds: TULANE -19.5
Here are some of the NCAA college football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* ARMY has lost its last ten games SU
* ARMY is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five road games
* ARMY has lost its last 12 road games SU
* ARMY has played four of its last five road games UNDER the total
* TUL has covered five of its last seven games
* TUL has lost 15 of its last 23 games SU
* TUL has covered five of its last seven home games
Also....
* TUL has won and covered four of the last five meetings as the home team
Army is not operating on a high-octane level, although Chip Bowden was effective running in the triple-option, rushing for 128 yards against Texas A&M in the near-upset last week. Bowden is now the preferable "option," if you will, to Carson Williams, who was proven a failure running a pro-style passing attack. That hasn't worked too well at The Point.
Sure, the Cadets are working with more confidence, but Tulane will be geared up for some revenge, as they suffered a 20-17 overtime loss to Army last week despite being outgained by a 401-240 margin. This is a Tulane team that is doing a better job on the defensive side than it did last season, allowing just 2.8 yards a carry. In the four games they've played, the Green Wave has yet to surrender 100 yards on the ground. And consider that two of those opponents were nationally-ranked (Alabama and East Carolina).
The Wave leads the nation in sacks (16) which hardly matters here, since Bowden put it up only four times against the Aggies. And have we been talking about how difficult it's been to replace Matt Forte (now with the Bears)? Up to the plate steps Andre Anderson, who's rambled for 376 yards on 74 carries the last two weeks. And speaking of carries, can Tulane carry this hefty number? Well, we're figuring they can, as the Black Knights of the Hudson have been in a giving mood, as usual (-7 turnover margin).
We'll lean toward the Green Wave, the 19.5-point favorite in the BetUS NCAA college football betting odds.
