The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (1-0 SU & ATS), who pulled off a big upset in their season opener, will travel to more dangerous territory on Saturday when they face the Kansas Jayhawks (1-0 SU, 0-1 ATS) in an NCAA tilt that is set to kick off at 7 PM ET at Memorial Stadium (artificial turf) in Lawrence, KS.

BetUS NCAA Football Betting Odds: KANSAS -20.5

Here are some of the NCAA football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* LT has won four of its last six games SU

* LT has lost 16 of its last 24 games SU

* LT has played four of its last five games UNDER the total

* LT is 5-10 ATS in its last 15 road games

* LT has lost 12 of its last 15 road games SU

* KS has covered 10 of its last 12 games

* KS has won 13 of its last 14 games SU

* KS has played six of its last eight games UNDER the total

* KS has covered five of its last seven home games

* KS has won 10 of its last 11 home games SU

Louisiana Tech was trailing 14-9 at the half of their game last Saturday, but then Mississippi State threw things away with three turnovers in the third quarter, which led to the decisive points in the Bulldogs' 22-14 win. It's hrad to read into that performance by L-Tech, not only because of the five takeaways it had but also the spotty play of Taylor Bennett, the Georgia Tech transfer (who got special clearance to forego sitting out a year) who completed just 15 of his 40 passes, for only 161 yards.

Kansas, which bullied past a number of out-manned opponents last year, may have looked like nice guys last week as they failed to cover the 41-point spread (which kept going up and up) in easing past Florida International by a 40-10 score.

Louisiana Tech may have to look inward this time around for help. Don't expect Kansas to be as generous, however, when it comes to giving the ball away. Quarterback Todd Reesing has tossed just eight interceptions in 313 attempts, going back to the start of last year, and KU was the Division I leader in turnover margin in 2007.

What shouldn't be ignored is that the Jayhawk defense held FIU to a total of just 139 yards on the day. Bennett has a bit more firepower at his disposal, but it can charitably be said that off his production in Atlanta last year, the jury has to still be deliberating on his overall impact.

Reesing, who threw for only 256 yards on 52 attempts, should open things up more here. And the Bulldogs hardly have a chance to sneak up on this KU crew, even if a trip to South Florida is on the horizon. We'll lay it withthe Jayhawks, the 20.5-point favorite in the BetUS NCAAF betting odds.
