College Football Rankings - SEC Week 5 Power Poll
by Mike Rose

After four weeks of play in the NCAAF betting season, several teams from the SEC have looked great for sports bettors. Find out how BetUS rates them against each other in this week's power poll...
1: South Carolina Gamecocks (4-0 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 1) - My, how high South Carolina would be ranked right now if it could've punched the ball in the end zone at the end of the game against Georgia! That's the only blunder so far on HC Steve Spurrier's resume for '09, and after the upset of Ole Miss, the Gamecocks have their eyes set squarely on the Gators in the SEC East. There's plenty of football to be played between now and November 14th though.
Up Next: Home vs. South Carolina State (OTB)
2: Auburn Tigers (3-1 ATS, 4-0 SU) (LW: 2) - Auburn hasn't face a whole heck of a lot in terms of competition this season, but in fairness to the Tigers, they've really played fantastic offense against those four foes. It’ll get its first major test of the season this week after UT's defense already shut down the mighty Florida offense. Auburn OC Gus Malzahn and Tennessee DC Monte Kiffin should be in for a fantastic clash of great minds on Saturday.
Up Next: Away @ Tennessee (+1.5)
3: Alabama Crimson Tide (3-1 ATS, 4-0 SU) (LW: 6) - All of a sudden, after watching Ole Miss lose and V-Tech crush Miami, Alabama is smelling a lot rosier. The #3 team in the land has a legitimate gripe to be #1 once again after dismantling Arkansas 35-7 on Saturday afternoon. There's one more tune up in Lexington before the Tide rolls into Oxford for the big time showdown with the Rebels.
Up Next: Away @ Kentucky (-17)
4: Florida Gators (2-1 ATS, 4-0 SU) (LW: 5) - Sometimes you just have to wonder if the Gators are a chosen team. For the first time in his career, QB Tim Tebow suffered an injury when he took a nasty shot to the back of the head from his own teammate while getting sacked. The game against Kentucky was already well in hand, and while everyone was scrambling to see who mighty Florida played next week, to no surprise, Tebow and the gang have a week to rest before heading to the Bayou. If you listen to HC Urban Meyer, his Heisman Trophy winning quarterback will be ready.
Up Next: Bye
5: Vanderbilt Commodores (2-1 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 8) - Vandy proved to the oddsmakers that its 15-3 loss to Mississippi State two weeks ago was a fluke when it traveled to Houston and crushed the Owls 36-17. This is a brutal stretch of games from now through November 7th, and if the Commodores can get out of this mess somehow at 5-5, another bowl game is in their future.
Up Next: Home vs. Mississippi (+8.5)
6: Mississippi Rebels (2-1 ATS, 2-1 SU) (LW: 4) - Shame on you, Ole Miss! The Rebels were upset in Columbia last week in what amounted to be an incredibly ugly game. Are the Rebels still for real, or are they nothing more than the product of preseason hype? If there's another stumble on deck this week, we'll all know that this team is nothing more than a mirage.
Up Next: Away @ Vanderbilt (-8.5)
And the rest…
7: Mississippi State Bulldogs (2-1 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 0)
8: Tennessee Volunteers (2-2 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 3)
9: Kentucky Wildcats (1-2 ATS, 2-1 SU) (LW: 7)
10: Arkansas Razorbacks (0-2 ATS, 1-2 SU) (LW: 10)
11: LSU Tigers (1-3 ATS, 4-0 SU) (LW: 11)
12: Georgia Bulldogs (1-3 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 12)
