Stanford and Oregon are the Top Dogs in the PAC 10 Power Poll
by Mike Rose
The Pac-10 continues to be one of the wackiest conferences in the country for football handicappers. Check out how BetUS stacks up the squads on the West Coast with this week's college football power rankings...
1: Stanford Cardinal (7-3 ATS, 7-3 SU) (LW: 1) In a radio interview the night before Stanford took on USC, HC Jim Harbaugh quoted WWE Hall of Fame Ric Flair by saying, "In order to be the man, you've got to beat the man." No one said anything about beating the snot out of the man! The Cardinal took out the Trojans with an incredibly impressive 55-21 victory at the Coliseum. Now, the Pac-10 title is within reach with some help.
Up Next: Home vs. California (-7)
2: Oregon Ducks (7-3 ATS, 8-2 SU) (LW: 2) Oregon moved one step closer to the Rose Bowl on Saturday by demolishing Arizona State. Victories over Arizona and Oregon State over the next three weeks will get the job done, but for as wild as this conference has been this season, expect the unexpected.
Up Next: Away @ Arizona (-6)
3: Oregon State Beavers (5-4 ATS, 7-3 SU) (LW: 6) The Beavers are the team that everyone is forgetting about in the Pac-10 title hunt. Winning out will get the job done, but there aren't any more games left in Reser Stadium this year. Oregon State should get the job done against Wazzou to set up a big time showdown in the Civil War.
Up Next: Away @ Washington State (-31)
4: Arizona State Sun Devils (5-4 ATS, 4-6 SU) (LW: 3) Thanks to four straight losses, Arizona State is looking at the prospects of staying home for the bowl season once again. A loss against the Bruins would seal the deal and could put HC Dennis Erickson on the hot seat. ASU's 15th ranked defense badly needs some help from its offense, which hasn't scored more than 27 points in a game since September 19th.
Up Next: Away @ UCLA (+4.5)
5: California Golden Bears (5-5 ATS, 7-3 SU) (LW: 7) It's sort of unbelievable to fathom, but the Golden Bears are still alive in the Rose Bowl chase. In its first game without RB Jahvid Best, Cal knocked off the previously ranked Wildcats 24-16 to stay alive. Now, a game against rival Stanford can make the season in spite of three very dismal losses.
Up Next: Away @ Stanford (+7)
6: Washington Huskies (5-5 ATS, 3-7 SU) (LW: 4) The Huskies finally look like they've given up on the season. They were destroyed 48-21 at Reser Stadium on Saturday night, marking their fourth straight loss in conference play. However, losses by a TD or less to LSU, Notre Dame, Arizona State, and UCLA have shown that this is a program on the rise. There's a week off before the Apple Cup.
Up Next: Bye
And the rest…
7: UCLA Bruins (5-5 ATS, 5-5 SU) (LW: 8)
8: Washington State Cougars (5-5 ATS, 1-9 SU) (LW: 9)
9: Arizona Wildcats (4-5 ATS, 6-3 SU) (LW: 5)
10: USC Trojans (2-8 ATS, 7-3 SU) (LW: 10)
