NCAAF Week Six Odds – Kansas Jayhawks vs. Iowa State Cyclones
by Mike Rose

The Kansas Jayhawks (3-1 SU, 2-1 ATS) storm Ames, IA Saturday afternoon for a CFB online gambling tussle with the Iowa State Cyclones (2-2 SU, 2-1 ATS) as both clubs open up its Big 12 schedules. After suffering a crushing defeat at South Florida back in Week 3, the Jayhawks cruised to a home victory (38-14) over Sam Houston State before resting up throughout its bye last week. ISU also licked its wounds throughout its bye after dropping a closely contested battle at UNLV by a 34-31 final count back in Week 4.
The Jayhawks cruised to their third victory of the season their last time out against the Sam Houston State Bearkats who stood 0-15 SU against B12 competition all time losing by an average of 41 PPG. After a scoreless 1st quarter, KU erupted for 21-points when QB Todd Reesing found WR Kerry Meier for a 68-yard score and WR Dezmon Briscoe for a 57-yard pass and catch for his second TD reception of the season. Even though there wasn’t a NCAAF betting line produced for this game, KU romped outgaining the Bearkats 528-385. They also won the turnover battle 3:1, the time of possession battle by 11+ minutes, out-first downed SHST 29-19, and converted 65% of its third down opportunities.
KU is a remarkable 15-2 SU its L/17 games overall, and they’re 5-0 ATS their L/5 as a visitor which included their ATS win by the hook at South Florida a couple weeks ago. That said; last year was their first win in Ames in their L/5 visits and they’re 1-5 ATS their L/6 at ISU overall according to the closing NCAAF lines.
After finding itself down 21-0 at the half and well on their way towards losing its 13th straight road game, head coach Gene Chizik’s Cyclones competitive juices started flowing ultimately allowing them to tie the Rebels up by putting 28 points on the board in the second half to force OT. They did dent the board first in the extra session with a FG, but the Rebels hit pay-dirt on their first play from scrimmage to hand the Cyclones unlucky loss #13 in a row as a visitor. Still, through its first four games, ISU has shown improvement from last years club. Their 32 PPG average to date on offense is close to two TDs higher than it was a season ago, and they’ve sliced a TD off their per game average on defense from a year ago as well.
The Cyclones are 4-0 ATS its L/4 home games, 6-2 ATS its L/8 overall games, and 4-1 ATS their L/5 conference games per the closing CFB odds. However, ISU’s a poor 1-5 ATS its L/6 games following its bye week.
The recent series is tied at five games apiece since 1998. The favorite is 6-2 ATS the L/8 overall meetings between these Big 12 North representatives, and the home team has cashed for college football bettors in 5 of the L/6 meetings.
The Jayhawks currently sit as lofty 12.5-point favorites in this spot with the ‘total’ currently lined at 52.5.
