College Football Week 12 Betting - Big East Power Poll
by Mike Rose
The Big East plugged along last week with another week of ups and downs in NCAA football betting. Find out how the teams stack up against each other in this week's college football power rankings from BetUS.com.
1: Connecticut Huskies (8-1 ATS, 4-5 SU) (LW: 1) Bowl games would be lining up to take Connecticut after its tragedy a few weeks back. However, the Huskies have to get the job done first, as they're on a three-game losing streak but have three very winnable games in which they need two victories to go bowling. They could catch the Irish napping this weekend in South Bend.
Up Next: Away @ Notre Dame (+6)
2: Pittsburgh Panthers (6-3 ATS, 9-1 SU) (LW: 2) The Panthers are just two wins away from the BCS, and with the way that things have been shaking out for teams vying for an at-large berth to the biggest bowl games of the year, it may only really take one more win. The Backyard Brawl is the next game on the slate, but there's a week to prepare.
Up Next: Bye
3: Cincinnati Bearcats (6-4 ATS, 10-0 SU) (LW: 3) The Bearcats were backdoored by WVU on Friday night, but the damage has truthfully been done. Barring two losses, Cincinnati should be headed to the BCS even if it doesn't win at Heinz Field in three weeks. There's a week to get ready for the clash with the Illini. A 'W' in two weeks should seal the deal. Now, HC Brian Kelly will just sit back and hope that at least one of Texas, Alabama, and Florida finds a way to lose a game so his team can have a legitimate stake to the National Championship.
Up Next: Bye
4: Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-4 ATS, 7-2 SU) (LW: 5) Rutgers put a very firm stamp on its bowl ticket on Thursday night when it absolutely stomped South Florida at home. It should be another nine-win season at least for HC Greg Schiano, and even though this probably isn't his best version of the Scarlet Knights, there's nothing to be ashamed of... unless of course he loses to either Syracuse or Louisville in the next two weeks...
Up Next: Away @ Syracuse (-8)
5: South Florida Bulls (4-4 ATS, 6-3 SU) (LW: 4) The Bulls may already be at six wins, but considering that two of those games were FCS opponents, they still need one more win to lock up a bowl berth. They probably won't have to travel far for that bowl game, as the St. Petersburg Bowl is likely calling again, but it's going to take a victory over the 'Ville to reach that point first.
Up Next: Home vs. Louisville (-12)
6: Syracuse Orange (5-5 ATS, 3-7 SU) (LW: 7) Unfortunately, it was a game that someone had to win. The Orange couldn't pull off the SU victory, but they did manage to level their ATS record to 5-5 with their 10-9 loss at the ‘Ville. This disaster of a season is mercifully almost over.
Up Next: Home vs. Rutgers (+8)
And the rest…
7: Louisville Cardinals (4-5 ATS, 4-6 SU) (LW: 6)
8: West Virginia Mountaineers (3-6 ATS, 7-3 SU) (LW: 8)
