College Football Betting Championship Weekend

Complex bowl scenarios will be cleared up this weekend after the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 crown their champs on the NCAAF sports betting schedule.

The SEC Championship Game will likely draw the most hype this weekend, since the winner between Alabama and Florida will most likely be moving on to the national championship game. You don’t get a much better matchup than the No. 1 team in the nation, the Crimson Tide, facing the No. 2 team in the nation, the Gators, in what’s essentially a winner-take-all contest. The Crimson Tide may be ranked higher than the Gators, but Florida is the favorite this weekend by a pretty big margin at -9 on the college football odds. Tim Tebow and the Gators have been routing all-comers while averaging 51 points during their eight-game winning streak, but they may have to get it done without Percy Harvin this weekend; he’s questionable with an ankle injury. The Crimson Tide defense showed what they’re made of last week by shutting out Auburn, but they’ll have a much harder time with Florida.

In the Big 12 the Missouri Tigers are in for a rough game against the Oklahoma Sooners as a 17-point underdog on the college football betting odds. It likely didn’t help the Tigers’ confidence that they lost their regular season finale to Kansas last week 40-37 as a 16-point favorite. The Sooners earned their spot in the championship game after displaying their offensive fortitude in a 61-41 win over Oklahoma State last week. Sam Bradford recorded five touchdowns in the win, while Oklahoma’s ground game was as tough as ever with DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown combining for 171 yards and three TDs.

The Tigers and Sooners last faced off last season in a 38-17 Oklahoma victory as a 3-point road favorite. Oklahoma has won six straight over the Tigers and a big win on Saturday could lock up a spot in the national championship game for them.

Finishing off the conference championship games is the ACC title game between Boston College and Virginia Tech, which is a rematch of last year’s conference championship. Last year Virginia Tech rolled over the Eagles 30-16 as a 4-point favorite to punch their ticket to the Orange Bowl. The Eagles clawed their way into this year’s title game with a 28-21 win over Maryland last week. The Hokies edged rival Virginia 17-14 last week to clinch their spot.

Back in October the Eagles and Hokies clashed at Boston College, when the Eagles pulled out a 28-23 win as 3-point favorites. Boston College is favored again in the rematch, but this time by only 1 point.
